Amen! To look with steady gaze upon the state of our wounded, groaning planetary community-pillaged and polluted by profiteers and perjurers, with a dominant culture increasingly dissociating from empathy and grief out of self-protective resignation-to see all this and to refuse to look away, refusing also the easy answers offered by propagandists, preachers and peddlers of distraction, and then, outrageously, to nevertheless maintain a commitment to respecting and nurturing the humanity of those around us without expectation of success or reward, even amidst betrayal and loss, to endure, to watch and pray, to speak and sing and serve a mighty river of justice that is as yet largely unseen, but whose inexorable current carries us along (at times, barely able to breathe): sublime madness indeed, my friend. From the depth of my heart: gratitude and solidarity, brother. A few weeks ago, with loved ones we heard you sing this before a group of unlikely prophets about to walk into a den of lions (or perhaps, nest of rats). Tonight, with loved ones, to mark the start of Advent we listened again (and again). If tears feed that river, then each time I hear this, it grows a little.

You can't imagine the consolation your songs bring to me and I suspect, to a lot of people out there. And that background... 😍 Luke, did you delete your cover of Heart with no companion? It was a market day gig and I listened to it probably a thousand times but I can't find it anymore.
