Not at all! Currently I've got 11-52 with the 52 swapped for a 64. This is just a hair too light for me at the moment. I've got a 11-56 set, plus a single 68 ready for when it comes time to change strings. I'm thinking those should be perfect for this tuning. Drop E sounds doable with those gauges, although probably a little floppy. I know @_rekak uses those exact strings on a shorter scale guitar, though with an evertune. Maybe he has some thoughts? I think I'd consider a longer scale guitar if I was looking for something spesifically for drop E. You could potentially go up to an 80, or tune a little higher and pitch down to E. It's seemingly one of those tunings you can't really get to without some kind of compromise. I'm really drifting off topic now. I hope this is somewhat helpful. @@Sjur_sm57 i must say, your style is pretty unique. it has a cool atmosphere to it. like an ancient cold distant land. a bit of recommendations to listen to: I Sank Atlantis (i guees "shadow" is the only worth listen to); Glass Comet; Even Marea; Ice Sealed Eyes; Catsclaw; Diamond Construct; Glaciers; Nemertines and Stömb is pretty good

I really like it! The fretwork isn't the best. I'm running high action and I still have fretbuzz in a few places, that is totally fixable though. The neck profile is really nice, it's thin-ish without being too thin for me. This is typically an issue for me with modern guitars, so I'm really happy with that. I'm still using the stock pickups as well, I think they sound great, but I'll let you be the judge of that. The guitar is far from perfect, but it really delivers in the ways that matter to me. I'd give it a 7/10 I think. Do you have any other guitars you've been looking into?

@@Sjur_sm57 maybe the fret buzz can be alleviated with an intonation and all that. yeah looks pretty nice, ill definitely keep that in mind. as for other guitars im looking at, Solar is really interesting me. particularly the A models.

Well, the top 5 strings are the same as C# standard/drop B, but the low string is dropped further down to G#. Another way of thinking about it is a 7 string G# standard, but instead of adding the 7th string below, you're replacing the 6th string with the 7th. I hope that explains it well enough. 😊

Stock pickups, I think they're "high output" ceramics. I do have a dimarzio pickup sitting around that I've never put into anything. I still feel like the stock pickups do the job well enough.

I've got 11-64 on here. I threw together the best set I could with what I had on hand, the gauges are 11 14 18 30 42 64. I'm not tuned all that low, only the low string really. You should have no problem going heavier if you're looking to do that. The nut needs some filing though. Hope you like the guitar!
