The tires seem a bit big, and maybe I'm just getting older and don't see the point of the flames and super aggressive exhaust but honestly the car is beautiful. It's super clean and built very well. Nice job

Oout of all of them, I like the Dinan the best. I have full round pipes on mine from Turner Motorsports with the factory resonator welded in and the Valvetronic axle back. I love the way that sounds too with a catless downpipe

Did you drop the pan? If the crank is still good, you can just install new rod bearings and bolts

Need to avoid all electronics or the repair bill could be enormous. Don't spray belts. Keep away from fuse boxes if your engine has one in the bay. Use very gentle water and not a pressure system.

it's on purpose so they break periodically and you have to replace it. and usually people go to the dealership to fix these type of issues

@@Mr.DMZ. yea a lot of car companies do tricks like these. Audi made plastic chain guides for the 4.2 V8. Ford's 3.5 v6 has a water pump run internally so you have to take apart the engine to replace it. thus making a few hundred dollar fix now over 2k in repairs. pretty scummy but it's what we have to deal with

What’s your opinion on 2012 F30 335xi with 106k I’ve worked on a 99 E34 530i and it had issues vacuum, and the brittle coolant cross over pipes under the intake manifold.

Hey John! I know i’m super late but i’m gonna be putting a M3 bumper on my 2016 F30. It’ll be my first time replacing a bumper on any car. Is the process difficult? And how hard was it to reconnect all the PDC sensors after your new bumper was on? (Great content btw)

I may be experiencing the same thing right now. I swapped the engine because the old engine had rod knock. I picked up the car a few days ago after ALL the service and it poured oil all the way home. I met 2 people recently whos n54/n55 popped

Catless dp really increases the performance but the smell on my 435i tuned to stage 2 was way to much for me. Its not worth it. If you are going to put put catless on your car be aware of the smell....its BAD

I love how you built your 335i. It looks like it was quite journey. I love and hate my 335i. I added a CTS Cold Air Intake, a Evolution Racewerks Lower Intercooler, Evolution Racewerks Charge Pipe, a CTS Turbo Inlet, an Engine Crank Seal (A MUST HAVE MOD TO PREVENT CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE), a Crank Bolt Capture, upgraded interior lighting, installed a Mosselman Oil Thermostat, painted and installed M Sport front and rear bumpers, upgraded the Sportline Steering Wheel to M Sport. After a few months I started to learn the reality of owning a BMW. First my Shocks and Absorbers gave out and I went with Bilsteins. Then my oil pan and transmission starting leaking and I had to get the oil pan gasket and transmission gasket replaced which was expensive to do since a mechanic would have to drop the sub frame. Then my valve cover gave out so I had to install a brand new valve cover gasket and new spark plugs. Then my battery died out and I had to buy and code the new battery. Then my oil coolant lines deteriorated so I had to replace the lines and went with aluminum hose ends to prevent this from happening again. Then my vacuum lines connecting to my cold air intake cracked and my Oil Pressure Sensor leaked oil so I had to replace the sensor by removing the intake manifold and solder new connections because BMW updated the sensor connector and no longer makes the older connector. Water pump was intermittently failing and I ended up having to replace it, the water pump thermostat, and the upper radiator (because its plastic ends were crumbling. My car would randomly shut down while I was driving and I found out it was the High and Low Presure Fuel Pump that were failing so I replaced the High Pressure Fuel Pump and installed a Stage 2 Low Pressure Pump. That solved the issue, but my car would sometimes stall while driving. I am currently suspecting it is the Bootmod3 tune that is causing my car to stall. I went back to OEM tune and so far I haven't had that issue. The fact BMW made different sized bolts in hard to reach places throughout the engine made it difficult to remove them and more expensive because you have to get different sized wrenches. I probably stripped like 3 bolts throughout my build and it was a pain to remove them. Overall it was a challenging learning experience and it would have been insanely expensive to build if I had a mechanic do it. Fortunately I had a space to do all this and left the most daunting repairs to a mechanic. I definitely learned a lot from this experience and I can confidently say if you can work on a BMW you can work on any car. Whenever I work on my Mustang it is a walk in the park project that can be done in a few hours in comparison to my BMW. My Alternator went out on my Mustang and all it took was a flat head screwdriver and a 10 mm wrench to remove the 4 bolts connecting the alternator to the belt. I did it all within a hour. On my BMW, this would take maybe a whole day to do and would require multiple kinds of tools.

Too bad most 135i's are clapped out now. I've probably looked at 15 in the last 3 months and they have all been in garbage condition. And no, I'm not paying $20K+ for a low mileage version (they are still unreliable), those sellers are smoking crack.
