Im based, but here ya go: 7. Trump His Economic policies only work in short term, he got Roe v. Wade overturned, and failed to address Covid properly. His immigrantion reform, like limiting green cards and proposing an almost impossible to implement border wall, was destructive and did almost nothing to curb illegal immigration. Also, the meetings he held with North Korea and China went nowhere. And Jan. 6th happened. However, he's not all bad. He passed the First Step Act, and reorganized NAFTA into the USMCA. 6. Reagan His trickle down economics strangled the middle class, he slashed social spending. He also allowed Iran-Contra to happen, which ultimately caused drug lords to become filthy rich, coupled with the continued War On Drugs, which is just modern day prohibition. However, his work with Gorbachev to end the Cold War was incredible, and while his policies were destructive, they weren't intended to be, as Reagan was a real patriot. 5. W. Bush His NCLBA broke schools, Iraq War was a mistake, and fumbled the Katrina response. He's higher than Trump and Reagan because he led the country heroically in the immediate 9/11 aftermath, did what he could to combat the recession, and passed PEPFAR, which has saved tens of millions from AIDS/HIV. He was also a big goofball. Im sure you can find a compilation of his "Bushisms". 4. Clinton He was president during the longest sustained period of peacetime and economic growth. However, he failed to reform healthcare like he promised, and would always cave in to demands he disagreed with, like IIRAIRA or Dont Ask Dont Tell, which were destructive. His foreign policy was solid, but never achieved any great success in the middle east. Not to mention Monica, which showed the world that he was a spineless, mediocre, and ultimately forgetable president. 3. Biden Upon taking office, Biden poured huge amounts of funding into a Covid reaction team, which sped up production of a vaccine and got us out of Covid. The Inflation Reduction Act created hundreds of thousands of jobs, as well as combated climate change. He signed us back on the Paris Agreement too. He also passed the CHIPS and Science Act, which allowed us to manufacture more computer parts domestically, instead of relying on the dirty commies to make them, which did things like lower the price of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, but mainly helped us compete with China. He championed the Safer Communities Act, which expanded background checks for gun buyers under 21, encouraged Red Flag laws, and provided funding for mental health and school safety programs. He's expanded the ACA, has had student loan relief initiatives, and has made huge strives for LGBT people. All of that in one term. He's essentially a modern FDR. He would be higher, but the withdrawal from Afghanistan was disastrous and has had huge consequences for the region. 2. H.W. Bush This guy was an absolute foreign policy genious, overseeing Operation Just Cause and Desert Storm, which were landmark victories for US policy. He oversaw the end of the Cold War with initiatives like START 1, which reduced nuclear arms between the US and Russia. He passed the Americans with Disabilities Act, which was a landmark civil rights law, a handful of Clean Air Acts, and the Immigrantion Act, which expanded the number of immigrants the US would take on. He also condemned police brutality in response to the Rodney King beating, and provided huge funds to relieve the riots. To be honest, he only lost reelection because he broke his "No new taxes" pledge, and there was a slight recession in the wanning days of his presidency. 1. Obama This guy is one of my favorite presidents, right up there with JFK. Imagine everything great I listed about Biden. He was the guy who started that. He was the most progressive president of his time with laws like the ACA, and his recovery programs after the 2008 recession built a robust economy that would continue to prosper until Covid. He also passed laws to prevent the abusive banking policies that led to the crisis. He finally legalized gay marriage, and repealed Dont Ask Dont Tell. He was the one who originally put us on the Paris agreement. He passed DACA, which helped out kids like me! He made peace with Cuba, and had a deal with Iran to prevent the from getting nukes. And of course, he ended the disastrous war in Iraq. He was also the first black president, and while that didn't really make him better or worse, it represented how far America has come, and coupled with his incredible social skills, charisma, and general speaking ability, made him an iconic US president, up there with JFK, Teddy Roosevelt, Lincoln, FDR, and Washington.
