I also have no feeling towards being with guy-bits. If I were at half my age I woulden't mind if surgery was done. Knowing that emty down there would be nice(blank page/space). Having dysphoria sometimes is painfull, knowing thatin the future it's an option to become a neutrois.

I used to say, "If I want to see a trans, Agender, disabled, impoverished, African American/Native American, then I have to look in the mirror!" So, in 2013, I started to make my own videos about my personal experience as a trans person, in the hopes that at least a few people will be inspired by them.

I don't call myself a feminist, but of course I want equality for all people! It's just that the feminists that I have encountered dislike me for being trans, and call me a variety of very mean names. From my perspective, I have noticed a lot of prejudice among feminists: racism, trans-phobia, hetero-phobia, misandry, and homophobia. If they want equality, but act like they have a right to hate just about everyone who's not just like them, then they are hypocrites!

I know what it's like to be a loner, and to see other people as un-dependable. Finding someone to depend on, as an adult, is hard because adults are so busy with work, university, and having children, that they don't have spare time to hang out with me.

Black people don't find me appealing. They think the way I look is a betrayal to black culture because I "look white". And I've had more than a few white people who want to date me because they think black is exotic and the thought of being with someone black is some exciting adventure into another culture. How about just wanting to be with me for me??? I don't want to be anyone's fetish! Nor do I want to be disliked by my own community solely for the clothes I wear!

I researched Wicca and Paganism, and I considered practicing both, but I decided that I just can't stick to any religion. It bothers me that some people put their concept of god into male or female or both, and I don't see why any deity has to have a sex label. If god has a sex (or sexes), then there's no room for anyone non-bon. Religion, in the way that society has presented it to me, is strictly binary, and makes no allowances for non-bon, gender-free, sex-characteristics- description words-gender concept-description words-hating folks like me.
@HouseofCards42
@HouseofCards42 9 жыл бұрын
And that's perfectly acceptable and understandable. G?d should always be there for us. If your G?d cannot be found amidst the Judeo-Christian realm then so be it. Present to society what your religion is and say "Look. Here this is. It means something to me. Look at it." And regardless, there is nothing to say that G?d is required for a connection to the cosmos and universe. And there is certainly nothing which posits religion as a mandate for a connection G?d or anything else. You believe what you find yourself in. Don't search for things that you can claim - instead, search for things that claim you. Because that's where you're certain for find yourself.

If I had a penny for every woman-identified feminist on Tumblr and Facebook expressed that they dislike me for being trans, I'd have $1,000! Which is why I don't claim the "feminist" label; not because I don't believe in equal rights, but because I don't want to associate with a group where some of its members dislike my existence. Which is also why I deleted my Facebook account, and have abandoned my Tumblr.

I tried dating with a guy who knew very little about trans people. He used to say I wasn't making much of an effort to act less "girly", and I HATE IT when people say I act "girly"!! But we had a discussion about it, and he stopped saying stuff like that. I think if he had continued saying that I'm "girly", after that discussion, I would have kicked him to the curb! I don't put up with that kind of bullshit for very long. He had a tough time with pronouns at first, but after a few days it wasn't a big deal. He even corrected friends and relatives when they mis-gendered me. Too bad the romance didn't last!

I would define gender dysphoria as feelings of discontent, dissociation or depression regarding a person’s biological sex. I would also tack on a disclaimer stating that these feelings shouldn’t solely be caused by society or other people - if your only source of discomfort with your gender comes from ‘the way society sees me as [gender]’ then you need to seriously rethink whether you need medical transition. However, this definition doesn’t explain how ‘feelings of discontent, dissociation or depression’ could manifest, so here’s a list of possibilities. I’m going to use the term sex-typical to mean characteristics due to your biological sex, such as prominent hips or breasts for FTM people, or broad shoulders or facial hair for MTF people. Discontent: feeling ashamed or embarrassed by your body, specifically by sex-typical features not being able to fit into the type of clothes you want to wear because of your sex-typical body shape feeling like you are not living the life you should be feeling uncomfortable in gender-specific spaces such as bathrooms or women’s or men’s support groups Dissociation: surprise or discomfort when sex-typical traits are touched/bumped (eg forgetting you have breasts, then holding something to your chest and feeling them) inability to mentally picture your body in sexual situations a sense of disconnect or lack of understanding about your emotional responses inability to relate to discussions of what is expected of people your gender (eg talking about ‘one day, when you’re a mum/dad’) not feeling close to other people of your biological sex (note: this doesn’t mean ‘I’m not like the other girls, they’re all popular and into fashion and I’m edgy and different’, I’m talking about a severe lack of understanding or disconnect from the majority of men/women) (FTM specific) forgetfulness with regards to menstrual periods Depression: long term feelings of anxiety or depression about your sex-typical characteristics OR with no recognisable cause desire to self-harm or cause harm to/remove your genitals in sexual people, a lack of sex drive due to discomfort with your genitals or feelings of shame, embarrassment or depression during/after sex extreme discomfort or disgust with sex-typical bodily functions (eg growing facial hair for MTF people or menstrual periods for FTM people) a sense of fatalism or resignation towards a future living as your birth gender - feeling like there’s no hope for the future or that there is nothing to look forward to

I think it's really important to hear from NB people who don't wish to alter their bodies physically, whether they have dysphoria (which it sounds like you do) or not. I think what you described is gender dysphoria because it's basically just discomfort, anxiety, and uneasiness with one's body. Thank you for being so open and honest in this video about a very sensitive topic. It seems incredibly difficult for people who are completely agender or genderfluid who do experience dysphoria because, like you said, medical transition may not help at all. There's not exactly a way to "look genderless," apart from trying to appear completely androgynous--which isn't for some people! And not being able to fluctuate your body along with fluctuating gender identity, for genderfluid people, is not possible either. I feel like, because I do lean more on one side of the spectrum, I can alter my body to feel as though I fit into it better... and I think that comes with inherent privilege that other NB people don't have. :/ Thanks once more for mentioning my funding in your video!
@risi7634

I completely felt the same way in regards to my body. I would love to be able to just pick and choose what body parts I could have on any particular day. For me, having a "masculine" flat chest and "feminine" bottom parts that are slightly more masculinized is a happy medium, so that's what I'm going for. But for every NB person, how they feel about their body is going to be different. I really love your message about body positivity and self love in this video.

Finally got around to watching the entire video! Thank you so much for touching on how trans women are associated with sex work. This stereotype can be really harmful because trans women will be profiled. :/ You're very right that being recognized and accepted is not just about legal documents. It's about our safety. And also talking about how gender is talked about in Taiwan, and how much more difficult it is to discuss and educate others on nonbinary/trans identities. Plus you touched on nonbinary erasure even with folks who do understand that transgender people exist. It's a little bit like bisexual people being told, "You're either gay and afraid to come out, or you're straight and want attention," which is so horrible. -_-
@risi7634

It's just so hard to even consider them legally recognizing us when binary folks have enough struggles in much of the country. :/ Access to health care depends on gender markers and gender markers depend on surgery. It's such a fuckery.
