I live in the Pacific Northwest and there is a unique way that coldness feels when you're beside the ocean. The cold feels like it sleeps into your bones, it's kinda hard to explain but it's a pretty strong feeling. And yeah pulling the blankets over your head and using your breath to heat up the space is 100% a thing

It’s a shame that the lyrics you had for Like That were not entirely correct. It’s not “talking with braces on your tongue…” it’s “talking with razors on your tongue…” basically saying that they were lashing out at him verbally to goad him into an argument. The braces thing makes absolutely no sense. Enjoying your reaction. Now you need to start at the very beginning and work your way through the EPs and albums. Nazareth is a very dark song. Beautiful, but dark.

Hey hey hey, I don't even know why I am leaving this here. This vid has no comments and start and end videos have ones that are like 1 year ago or somethin :/ So yeah, I kinda was looking for a while for some audiobook-like stuff for background to study, decided that some 17776 would be nice and found this trilogy (if you can even call it that lol) I really liked the voices, the acting, everything. When I was reading 17776 for the first time (kinda same with 20020, the sequel to it) everyone got unique voices I thought would fit a character's maner of speaking, general behavior, etc. for some reason (maybe i missed a few parts where 10 or 9 say "sister" to one another) 9 and 10 got male voices and Juice got a nerdy girl sorta voice. Dunno why, maybe the text color did it for me, idk. I honestly don't know why I felt like sharing this, but well here we are. I just kinda don't like videos having empty comment sections :] Well I hope to whoever is reading this has good day, good night, good everything. May the perpetualest of hangouts come upon thee :)

1:33:38 this verse reminds me of verse one from their song called "Runaway" from Now, Not Yet: I've been searching, nothing's working I've been tripping, no one's perfect Chasing vision, just the surface Shirt's on backwards, not on purpose, yeah

I'm new to your channel as of this comment. Ever since "Still Feel" dropped and my college roommate and I jammed to it... I've been listening to H.A. Just like @sahsahroosky mentioned below, their first album "Now, Not Yet" is a great first album. I go back to that one a bit. I think because it was their first album the lyrics are shallower than the albums to follow. However, it was that album that established their thoughts about creation, truth, being present, etc. from a Christian worldview. It is also a great introduction to their unique creativity and choreography if you happen to watch the music videos. Side note: Their choreography is an additional reason as to why I enjoy their music. If you get the chance to go to one of their shows DO IT. I love H.A. because the members are all very talented. They're instrumentalists and great mixers. They are honest, intellectual, passionate, loving, clean, artists. I'm grateful for their craft. I love your reaction(s) and the head bobbing.

I can agree with your assessment of where this falls in comparison to COAP. It's tough because, COAP has more songs and thus more opportunity to have a couple odd ones out that I may not enjoy as much, yet I feel more personally impacted by it than Persona. Persona, imo, is musically phenomenal all around but I feel a little less persona(haha)lly impacted by the lyrics. I'm horrible about picking favorites in general lol, I love em both. Idk if you have yet, but I'd highly suggest listening to Now, Not Yet, w album. For this album, I think the songs that I enjoyed the most musically were Automatic, People, and Lie, Lie. Lyrically, I think Thank You, Lie, Lie, and People hit me the hardest. Thank You was especially touching as I am a Christian. I get that's not what everyone takes away from it, but it just, in my opinion, highlights the important fact that, while life on earth may suck sometimes (especially Jesus's life), it's not where our hope should lie, ultimately we should grow closer to God and hope for a perfect eternal life after we slip the bonds of earth. As Christians, and just as humans in general, we never got promised a good life on earth, only a perfect and eternal life after this one, bought for us by Christ's sacrifice on the cross. Sorry for the mini-sermon lol, Thank You just hit me hard in a good way. Overall, I don't have any complaints worth voicing about the album, it's a banger imo but y'know, I get it's not everyone's thing. Love these reactions man! Extremely entertaining, very insightful, very honest, and definitely worth the watch. Keep it up! God bless you man!

@@sahsahroosky Thanks so much for your thoughts! Thank You definitely hits, for different reasons for me than you perhaps, but it’s lyrically one of the strongest on the album. I got into half•alive via Now, Not Yet, which I still think is their strongest album, but obviously I have a slightly different relationship with it now than I did when I found it before I’d left the church.

Recently discovered Orla - not my usual favorite type of music but her attitude and honesty carries it for me. This album is such an interesting experience because I feel like most of these songs are relatable to me in the way that I used to be the person on the other end. Very confronting, but also cathartic and comforting in that I do feel like I've eventually learned a lot of the lessons that Orla is trying to get across here. I loved hearing your interpretations of everything and it helped me understand these songs a lot better! Some thoughts of mine, mostly on parts where our perspectives differed: Backseat Driver - I like your theory of it being about anxiety as I hadn't looked at it like that yet. In that case though, the part about flying straight into the wall doesn't seem to me like it's talking about what happens when anxiety takes over. I think that's Orla rebelling against it. "Oh what, you wanna always take the safe road with everything? No, screw that, we're driving into the wall!" Three Words Away - The 'power' mentioned here is interesting to me. I think it's about how she realizes that this person she's with really loves her and that it's all so good and perfect, but there's a voice in the back of her head that's telling her that she's gonna ruin it all. "Three words away from ruining your life" sounds to me like "If I love you, you're gonna love me back and suffer for it". And that's a type of power that she is trying to come to terms with. It seems very self-deprecating and 'call-of-the-void'-ish. Kiss Ur Face Forever - This one took me some time but I've now theorized that it's about Orla coming to terms with monogamy itself. The whole song can be read as her weighing all the pros and cons of being with one person forever IMO. The bridge part sounds like she's calling herself out on it - "come on, coward, you know you want this but you're afraid to commit" Who Am I - No notes, but I just feel like more young men need to hear this song. This is a message that I was never taught as a kid and had to hurt others around me to finally learn. Powerful stuff. Loved the vid! Greetings from a Tall Chubby Guy!
