I have neither eyes to see. Nor tongue to speak. Except as this house gives me leave. This is the biggest comment against aristocracy and biggest act of support for our democracy.

I did the tour of the Houses of Parliament a few years back. The main door to the Commons chamber has a huge, ragged, splintery dent in it where the Black Rod knocks on it with his staff every year at the opening ceremony, before being ceremonially turned away. The dent is deliberately never repaired. The idea, apparently, is that the worse the damage gets, the longer Parliament has been independent.

This is the time in England that old Monarchical Gov was too anachronistic , King Charles was Taxing too many Inland Towns and Business did not like the Waste or paying for this Charlatan’s expenses . The Elected MP’s and the Lords were Business folks who were determined to take supremacy from the Monarch and this was the start of it. The King messed with the Banking and Business Elites and paid the price for it !

EVERY SINGLE BRITISH CITIZEN COULD ASK ALL MPs and JUDGES THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY.... "By what [lawful] authority am I brought hither..." And if those MPs were to answer honestly, they would have to admit they have no lawful authority AT ALL. Their POWER rests on the backing of invaders and colonisers. WE HAVE NO LEGAL GOVERNMENT IN THE UK AND HAVEN'T HAD SINCE 1947.

It’s unfortunate the current Charles hasn’t met the same fate as Charles I but alas it seems the British people like being treated as an inferior by entitled scum and if they are happy with being treated like that then why should I feel sorry for them.

It's interesting to see just how powerful the King was politically back then, just his presence caused the rightfully uproarious Parliament to fall silent and remove their hats out of respect despite the fact he and his soldiers had literally just broken into Parliament

It’s not historically accurate.. Cromwell was not one of the named .. he was a very peripheral figure at this point.

Cromwell was foolish. Parliament is there to resolve any and all issues. Instead he plunged England into a catastrophic civil war, where half the known population perished. The equivalent of 35 million people today losing their lives.

for the MTG players: Charles is active player, he casts Oblivion ring targeting Oliver Cromwell. Cromwell casts counterspell. While on the stack, Charles casts Time Stop; ending the turn and exiling all spells off the stack. Cromwell say aloud to the pod, "threat!"
