Interesting calendar, with some bold moves to boot, especially Adelaide. And Watkins Glen for the US race, that would make a pretty wide spread for the final stretch of the season. Great picks, going into 2025, I might as well put mine in next: 🇦🇺 Australia - Albert Park (March 16) 🇲🇾 Malaysia - Sepang (March 23) 🇯🇵 Japan - Suzuka (April 6) 🇨🇳 China - Shanghai (April 13) 🇧🇭 Bahrain - Sakhir Outer (April 27) 🇹🇷 Turkey - Istanbul (May 4) 🇪🇸 Spain - Barcelona w/o chicane (May 18) 🇲🇨 Monaco - Monte Carlo (June 1) 🇨🇦 Canada - Montreal (June 15) 🇺🇸 United States - Indianapolis (June 22) 🇬🇧 United Kingdom - Silverstone (July 6) 🇩🇪 Germany - Hockenheim (July 13) 🇭🇺 Hungary - Hungaroring (July 27) 🇦🇹 Austria - Red Bull Ring (August 3) - (4 week break) - 🇧🇪 Belgium - Spa-Francorchamps (August 31) 🇮🇹 Italy - Monza (September 7) 🇦🇿 Azerbaijan - Baku (September 14) 🇮🇳 India - Buddh (September 28) 🇸🇬 Singapore - Marina Bay (October 5) 🇿🇦 South Africa - Kyalami (October 19) 🇵🇹 Portugal - Algarve (October 26) 🇺🇸 America - COTA (November 9) 🇲🇽 Mexico - Mexico City (November 16) 🇧🇷 Brazil - Interlagos (November 23) Wanted to stick to Grade 1 tracks (besides Kyalami, which may get renovated soon to meet it). Honorable mentions to: 🇫🇷 France - Dijon-Prenois (would be unique as a short-track race, endorsed by Vettel, but would need some work, so historic as this event is, no great way to include it) 🇺🇸 New York - Watkins Glen (Also needs some work, and also doesn't have many places to setup a pass for F1) 🇦🇷 Argentina - Buenos Aires (Seems small and narrow for modern F1, would need loads of renovations, but would be unique and decent if so) Along with: 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia - Jeddah (too many fast and blind corners, and Baku works as a fast street track anyway) 🇳🇱 Netherlands - Zandvoort (narrow, challenging, good elevation, but near other venues in the same time period, Hungary fits a similar niche besides the banking) 🇮🇹 Tuscany - Mugello (was great for a one-off, but like with Zandvoort, Hungaroring fits this narrow, challenging archetype in a better location) 🇸🇲 San Marino - Imola (historic and beautiful track, but not as well suited to modern F1, and gives other locations a chance to shine) 🇺🇸 Las Vegas - The Strip (too disruptive even by street circuit standards despite the decent racing and unique atmosphere) 🇪🇺 Europe - Nürburgring-GP (good enough to consider rotating with Hockenheim, but too close to Spa to justify 2 Germany races, and Hockenheim feels more unique) 🇷🇼 Rwanda - Kigali (largely in that this track doesn't exist yet as I write this, but if it ends up being any good, would probably take Portugal's place in my setup) Thanks for making this, this was really cool to see what you guys thought!

Valid tracks, wrong dates, the first 3 tracks will be REALLY chilly (so will kyalami and Adelaide) as the first race is usually 28th feb-2nd march and right before the summer break, Bahrain is HOT, like DANGEROUSLY HOT as we saw from 2004 (F1’s hottest race ever) it reached a staggering 42°C/107°F, and now with global warming, if this was the current calendar, we would exceed WAY past that, possibly even reaching temperatures similar to Death Valley, USA! (around 50°C/122°F)

I live close to the Gilles Villeneuve F1 circuit less than two hours away! I live in Chateauguay on the South shore of the St. Lawrence river and it's one bus and two metro lines to get there. I've been nine times to the GP and I stopped because the ticket prices are too high now. Also the new power plants are disappointing compared to the V10 and V12 engines of the eighties!

You can not start the season in Europe it will be a string of rain soaked races and races that could not be completed due to track conditions. Even if you get a rain free race the temperture will not allow the tires to switch on. It will be a disaster.

Just one thing worth mentioning. Heading towards the Biosphere is good if you are seated near the hairpin. For seating towards turns 1 and 2, along the front straight, or in the family grandstand, you would actually head in the opposite direction towards the city skyline. You will see a large open space used for summer concert festivals and if you cross it, it will take you towards Pont des Iles. There is a gate on that bridge which is much closer to those seating areas. It's still 15 to 20 minutes to get to turn 2, but it would be at least 10 minutes longer from the hairpin area.

A while ago, I came up with my dream F1 calendar, of 21 races. Heres what it looks like: 1. Australia, Albert Park. (Where I live, I think its nice to see it wake up the new F1 season) 2. Malaysia, Sepang. (F1 MUST return here) 3. Singapore, Marina Bay. (Because its close to Malaysia) 4. India, Buddh INTL circuit (I would love to see one) 5. South Africa, Kyalami (You are right, it wouldn't be an F1 world championship without including Africa in it) 6. Portugal, Portimao 7. Monaco, Monte Carlo (My favourite track) 8. France, Magny-Cours 9. Azerbaijan, Baku 10. Turkey, Istanbul Park (Baku-Istanbul and then back to the rest of Europe) 11. Great Britain, Silverstone (You just can't leave out F1's home) 12. Austria, Red Bull Ring 13. Belgium, Spa Franchorchamps (I love seeing the cars blast through Eau Rouge) 3 week break. Round 14: Germany, Nurburgring (Not the Nordschleife, because its too dangerous) Round 15: Italy, Monza Round 16: Emilia Romagna, Imola Round 17: Canada, Circuit-Gilles Villeneuve Round 18: USA, Las Vegas (I'll give it a chance) Round 19: Japan, Suzuka Round 20: Bahrain, Sakhir INTL Circuit Round 21: Brazil, Interlagos (You are correct, it is brilliant to end a season, especially with a title fight) What do you think?
@philmasters5277
@philmasters5277 Жыл бұрын
Glad you picked Kyalami. I have said for a long time that it doesn't feel like a true WORLD championship as not every continent is covered. I also like the re-inclusion of India. I think Liberty Media definitely need to take a proper look at these two. 3 GPs in the US is too many. Perhaps have them on rotation? I would, perhaps, swap Bahrain for Abu Dhabi. Never beena fan of Sakhir but like the Yas Marina circuit. Difficult to leave out France and the Nurburgring too. Again, the latter could be on rotation with Hockenheim. Maybe a 21-race season to include either Magny Cours or Paul Ricard? 😉

Montreal is a terrible place to watch F1. We paid $800 for two tickets and literally couldn't see the track. Not the cars. The track! But, I hear I'm not the only one. it's like this each year with many seats. It's a thing there. What a rip -off. I'm not sure how they get away with it. 3rd rate like most things in Canada are these days. The Indy turns out to be a much better organized race event in terms of seating . At least you can see the track when you pay for your ticket. this is hardly a small thing. It's why you're there.

Great content, thank you so much. Quick questions: 1. Do you recommend doing all 3 days from the same spot or different? 2. On race day, is it better to be on the main straight since all the action is happening there?
@CCF1channel
@CCF1channel Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! 1. I suggest to use the Friday as your day to scout out locations, that way you can see where other people standing at and to get an idea for what angles/spots you like the most. Then come Saturday and Sunday you'd want to get to your favourite spot early. If you do leave though it will be hard to get that place back unless you have a buddy there to hold your place. 2. I personally prefer being in a spot where you can see the cars for the longest amount of time, so my view point of the hairpin was enjoyable. Most of the action/overtakes in Montreal take place in the first two corners I feel. So if you can get close to those, that'd be my recommendation as they have a few spots around there fore people to stand I've heard. The main straight doesn't have the best view point as you'll be close to the track which is great but you might not catch the overtakes when they speed past you at 300+kph

That sounds like an amazing experience! I've personally not been to the Paddock in Montreal while the race weekend is happening, I've only been to the pit-lane. I was lucky enough to experience it at Monza in 2022 where we had a paddock pass for a short period of time. It's a very surreal experience if you've never done it before, you get to see all the teams going between the garages and the hospitality units, you might even get the chance to see a driver or a team principal up close. I feel it very much brings a new perspective to the weekends to see all the action taking place before/after each session. Have a fantastic time 😊

Hey Blair, thanks for the comment! There are water refill stations, usually near grandstands, I believe towards the entrances there are personal day lockers you can use (but I'm not 100% sure on this, sorry!) the same for phone charging stations. I can confirm the closest area to a beer garden would be the Heineken Terrace towards the middle of the circuit! Enjoy!

Tickets are hard to come by for the Grand Prix. They usually open up before the start of the year; but also I've heard they go on pre-sale access for people who've purchased tickets before in previous years. Which usually causes them to sell-out. They do release a few additional tickets leading up the the GP this year so you just need to be subscribed to their newsletter to not miss your chance!

There's plenty of parking options near subway stations, I know the metro station "Longueuil-Université-de-Sherbrooke" has many parking lots, you do have to pay for these though. Or you can find free street parking in the St-Lambert neighbourhood, its just a bit longer of a walk to the subway if you want to save some money.
