Nope thats the yellow system wlec pump. This video is very likely to be an single engine taxi meaning only the left engine is running. Why the left? Left because the left engine powers the green hydraulic system which power the normal braking aswell as the nosewheel steering. The yellow elec pump now pressurizes the yellow system as the engine number to is not running. This is important as the parking brake works over the yellow system 👍
How did you know that it was an auto land ? As a matter of fact Mumbai doesn’t have a CAT III ILS. Landing capability limited to CAT I only …
@flyingowl Жыл бұрын
I corrected it now. This was RWY27 which has CAT 2 capability, as for the Autoland I confirmed with the flight deck crew, one of whom is a known associate of mine.
@aviator_2401 Жыл бұрын
@@flyingowl I checked my charts , VABB only has CAT 1 capable runways . autolandings can be done on CAT 1 runways as well except for the fact that CAT1 ILS systems don't have a backup powersource like CAT 2 OR CAT 3 ILS systems which can be quite risky/dangerous if the airport suffers from a power failure . Autoland should never be performed on CAT 1 runways
@flyingowl Жыл бұрын
@@aviator_2401 aim-india.aai.aero/sites/default/files/aip_supplements/AIPS_2017_35.pdf The CAT2 upgrade happened years ago, also shown in the updated AAI charts. As for the Autoland, many airlines allow it even if not CAT3. Anyway I’ll go with what the crew told me, peace.

Why did thrust increase during climb and not during takeoff? I knew that take off phase rquires the max thrust
@flyingowl Жыл бұрын
Not necessary, many takeoffs these days are derated, also denoted by FLEX thrust on the Airbuses. Initial climb N1 % can be lower than or equal to the takeoff thrust N1, but at higher altitudes you need an N1 increase to maintain climb performance and compensate for air parameter changes. Hence, the climb N1 will slowly peak at around the Mach transition altitude which is roughly from 28000 - 31000 ft, then gradually decrease a bit.
