Loved they used the other actors in the montage and this was also a great tribute to David Lewis who died in 2000.

Anna Lee was also in How Green Was My Valley as Bronwyn. Upon being introduced to her during Baby Jane, Bette said, "Thank God they hired a professional!"

This was a sweet tribute. GH took a loss when she died. It's my understanding that she was supposed to have a job for life, and they fired her shortly before she died, and Leslie Charleson blew a gasket at them. I will always Miss Anna Lee's character - Lila Quartermaine. She was the most grounded and intelligent of all the characters.

Neither part of that would surprise me - them firing a beloved vet soap character or LC throwing a fit. She was rightfully upset about the way the show treated Stuart Damon in her & his anniversary year.

She used to be Sister Margaretta in the movie "The Sound Of Music" in 1965. She was an amazing actress. Gorgeous woman she is!

I remember Anna Lee in a Military movie with John Wayne, and she was even a sweet person then. May the Lord keep her always,she was an angel in life, I know that she's an angel in heaven too,bless her soul.

I was watching David Lewis today in the Oscar Winning film "The Apartment". Anna was in two Academy Award Winning films. David made you love Edward. His character was cheating on his wife and I pretended that the mistress was Beatrice which of course led to Jimmy Lee, whom Lila loved.

The soaps lost so much when they pushed the older characters out in order to focus on the young ones.

adelgado75 Agreed. Anna's son Jeffrey Byron blasted ABC for firing his mom in late 2003. No clue to why this stupid decision was made. I applaud Jeffrey for standing up to those assholes at the network The way I read it in Soap Opera Digest that nobody had the heart to tell Anna Lee that they were letting her go. 25 years of loyalty and she gets the verbal brush off. To me it was despicable.

David Lewis (1916-2000) was the original Edward Quartermaine. John Ingle began playing him in 1993.

Yeah, as well as her firing from GH was a complete and total shock to me, what's worse is that nobody had the heart to tell Anna Lee, she passed away on May 14, 2004 from Pneumonia.
