Hi, Same model, different situation. the device is not powering up - inspection of power supply module shows that it is dead. Any suggestion ? I thought, I could manually supply those voltages IF I KNEW THEIR VALUES 🙂 So, can you give any hint of voltages of those two sets of wires from power supply module ? One has 4 wires (Red, Black, Yellow, Blue) and the other has 6 wires (Red, Red, Black, Black, Yellow, Yellow) Thanks

the regulator 1117 3.3 Volt was damaged in my case, see the video at time 2 min 11 seconds its written the voltage 3.3 V Datasheet is as follows www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/reg1117.pdf?ts=1618740541604&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.google.com%252F

My Rigol DG1022 function generator, the CH1 channel stopped working; no output signal. The self-test does not give errors. I noticed that by selecting the CH2 output, when I change the waveform you can hear the relays working, instead when the CH1 output is selected, the relays do not work when I change the waveform type. Any suggestions?

Hi sorry i don't have the schematic , else try to follow the signal from the output BNC to the relay , or might be a supply is missing on the relays for the Channel 1 , try to check the different Voltage regulators output

Yes I DID worry about the heat gun and the flux on the PCB. I'd have used a soldering iron to remove the device TBH and cleaned the board before soldering in the new one. That apart a good repair.

Alway clean up the flux with flux remover dissolver. If you don't it eat away at trace over time as it becomes corrosive. Never use a hot air gun while board is still in case blowing directly by those large capacitors. A good way to destroy capacitors and get high ESR. That part you could have unsolder and solder back manually, no need for hot air, or at least use thermal tape on bottom area of capacitors. It's what I do when soldering BGA chip is put tape in other areas except for chip that hot air contacts while soldering. At least you did get it working, just have to be careful as capacitors hate heat and flux will eat though traces. I done that mistake, not cleaning up flux myself years ago and learned the hard way.

thx for the Advice will clean it for sure else its still running thought dont use it that often, else think rigol must revise theirs products as often we have regulators heating up

There is a similar problem, but it is not the regulator, maybe there's someone electric circuit of this generator?

I dont have the circuit , try to test the voltage from the other regulators else may be the incoming supple to the reg is faulty

I agree. Too bad you didn't clean and prepare the board before installing the new part. Watch Louis Rossmann's videos on surface mount component repair. He make the clean up look super easy and rewarding. The fluid that remains on your board might give you problems later on.

n1. next time you might shield the caps against the heat gun. I'm sure they don't like being roasted :)
