So gorgeous on Viola! Violin pitches & squeeks are hard on this profound piece. Beautifully played, just resonating. I like that you perform with bare feet, so grounded.

Compare with Alma Deutscher's string quartet!

Okay, i'll compare them: This sounds like Judith Weir. She's developed her own style. The same can't be said of Alma Deutscher... She's very talented but she's literally just repeating what she's heard over and over again. It basically just sounds like a schubert quartet. It's impressive pastiche, but that's all it is: pastiche.

Listen more carefully and you will find Deutscher does have her own style and original inspiration.

I like this piece, it reminds me of Britten. The thematic material, its expressive content, and all very well crafted; the music continues to sound fresh and imaginative, with no sense of redundancy.

Yes, JW's chamber music is amazing! The piano quintet 'I broke off a golden branch' is a particular favourite of mine.
