This is the way my West Virginian mother-in-law taught me to bind a quilt 50-some years ago. Once I retired & started quilting seriously, I never saw that method used in any of the videos I watched. Thank you for posting.

When this lady says use a smaller usb stick, she is not talking about a physically smaller stick. She should be saying use a smaller storage capacity stick.

I had to watch about a dozen videos of self-binding techniques before I found yours. Your method is exactly what I wanted. The others mostly were adding 10" to the backing to do a border/binding thing. Not what I wanted for my little mugrugs I'm trying to finish as gifts. So... a Big Thank you!!!

Very beautiful fabrics you picked for this quilt. I have that book and feel I need to "get busy" and use my hoarded number of fabrics. Have a great day!!

On the last quilt when you add the strip between the rectangles isn’t your block 11 x 10? Do you have to trim 1 inch off the block?

If she used a 1" strip, the extra was taken up in the seams, leaving just a 1/2" stripe in the middle and 1/4" less on each side.

That was helpful, thank you. I have a slightly different project as I want to embroider a phrase onto the border of a quilt and I can’t figure out how to line up the letters in each word since they’re too large for even my biggest 14” hoop. Letters are set to 3.5” tall. Any idea where I can learn to do this? Thanks!

Do the center folded edges of the finished MITERED CORNERS need to be hand stitched or machine stitched together? I don't think they do because there are no raw edges inside. If you take a look inside, you can see that the center edges are completely folded. What do you think?
