This is an outstanding introduction to MGM's remarkable film Quo Vadis (1951). Everything about this motion picture is spectacular, from its huge sets, gorgeous costumes and massive scenes to its remarkable cast, engaging script and impressive music! Everything converges into a colossal cinematic experience. Of course, Sir Peter Ustinov's superb performance as Emperor Nero is clearly the highlight of this biblical movie. In short, Quo Vadis is a masterpiece; it still remains the apex of epic films. It is my favorite motion picture. The only thing missing in this informative introduction is some of the actual music score from composer Miklos Rozsa. Fortunately, Quo Vadis is now available in the Blu-ray format. Prof. Dr. Dr. H. He seems to have been a very nice man. I really enjoyed this old interview! It's sad to think that he died of a massive heart attack one year later...only 44 years old...2 months before his only son was born. Trivia: he made TV ads for the American Heart Association...shortly before he died of his massive heart attack.

I use to watch a lot of TCM movies in the past. This movie was one of them. My late mother thought Robert Taylor was so handsome. But, she told me he was married to actress Barbara Stanwyck. One, of my favorite actresses. Unfortunately, they don't make blockbuster movies like this anymore. Charles Laughton played excellently in the 1960 movie. Spartacus.

Nice movie but just Hollywood. Filled with errors and mistakes. For example: The stoney Collosseum was builded later by Vespasianus on the private ground ( a lake) of Nero, at Neros time it was a smaller construction of wood as an Amphitheater in Rome on a different place Nero wasnt in Rome when the big fire breaks out, when he heard about it while living in his palace far outside of Rome he rides to Rome, organised the fight against the fire and opens all gates of his wide grounded areas for the public. So Nero was the founder of the "Fire Brigade". The big fire was that horrible bec all the buildings were by wood and stands really close together, after the fire Nero builded the houses of stone with wide streets and space between so a fire cant grab other buildings that fast. Historians say the fire comes from one of the open fireholes in a normal building. Nero died four years after the fire. And he wasnt hated by the normal people but by the Aristocrats. Finally the execution of Paulus and Petrus were completely different in timeline

It happened all the time in Hollywood, In "The Robe," theres a scene after the Crucifixion (33 A.D.) where Emporer Tiberius complained about a recent argunent he had with his wife...except historians say she died 25 years earlier. The same year "The Robe" came out (1953) Columbia gave us Rita Hayworth as "Salome." In that epic, Salome danced to SAVE the head of John the Baptist before becoming a Christian...

Thank you so much for showing this episode. So good to see the measure of the man. Mr. Power, indeed, a gentleman in a ways, so erudite, kind and eloquent. Yes, it is somewhat gratifying to see Americans presented in this manner. And, Mr.Morrow conducting the interview in such a dignified and comprehensive manner. My, how much 'class' has been lost..
