Too many bells and whistles to drive up cost and profits and less reliable. Same with cars. KISS, keep it simple stupid. When you have everything based on greed and profit, this is what you get.

1. Any blockchain needs a token to exist. Would you run a decentralized protocol on your machine for free? So, there is your value, and then people speculate on it. 2 & 3. Show me a market without whales. Even if we talk about the most massive market capitalizations like bonds and indices making companies, don’t you think it’s manipulated by many with shares buybacks, short squeezes and micro trading? Where do you think the Blackrocks and Vanguards of this world put their liquidity? All markets are the same. The difference is you can play for a 2% upside or a 300% upside. It’s not a matter of liking cryptos or not. It’s a matter of risk assessment and deciding which portion of your portfolio goes where, for risk adjusted returns.

Stacy, Is a 1% fee for AUM considered a commission based CFP?
@moneytalksnewsАй бұрын
No, a 1% fee isn't considered a commission. It's an annual fee paid on your account balance. A commission, on the other hand, is a fee occurring whenever you make a transaction, like buying or selling a specific stock or other investment. The reason people like me hate commissions is that the only way your advisor makes money is by moving your money around, which often isn't in your best interests. When you're charged a 1% annual fee, there's no trading incentive, which is nearly always better for the client (you). Also, make sure you're only dealing with a fiduciary, meaning someone legally required to act in your best interests. And this was 11 years ago. Things have only gotten worse. OK, let's figure this out. You spend $2000 on an energy "efficient" fridge that uses 1/3 less power than your old one. Let's say the old one used $480 worth of electricity a year, the new one $320. Sounds great right? You save $160 a year, until it breaks down 5 years later, but you saved $800 in power bills during that time. So, you have $1200 worth of original value left, until "the guy" tells you it's gonna cost $800 to fix it. Sounds to me like you didn't get the promised "Energy savings" that you were hoping for.

Here’s a pro tip. I lived in an apartment with free water but no air conditioning. Open one side of your shower curtain and place a large fan on the toilet aimed at it. Open the other end a bit and put your shower on full cold. Enjoy. This cooled my 800sqft apartment all summer. Can’t imagine how much water a permanent waterfall in my bathroom was, but maybe they found AC cheaper after I moved out.

Very grounded discourse which most ordinary folks can relate to, ponder and apply to their unique circumstances. In my experience, when it comes to building financial health, every positive step, no matter how small it is, will gain traction over time if we persist. It's a progression and not perfection..
