Just watched this and remembered a response from the Sports Council who said, they couldn't recognise this as a 'sport' as there was no physical effort put in. They should take a look!!

This is extremely fascinating!! I am currently working on my third year architecture project, focusing on life and industry on the River Tyne and more importantly, Dunston Staiths. What is the name of the photographer? I can't seem to find her work! Any help would be much appreciated, will help immensely with my studies. Thank you!!
@meerkatfilmsuk9 ай бұрын
Hi, Thanks for the comment. The photographer of the Staithes photo is Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen.

The most realistic film on mental illness I've seen. It makes me so sad that these folks have to go through with this. I'll admit I relate but in my experience, in the US, they treat you with more compassion. Thank You for telling their story.

The easy way to understand the homing instinct is that it is similar to when your at the pub legless and can’t remember how you got home!

I don't know how many times I've seen this documentary. is incredible. thrilling. I loved seeing it from the first time and from time to time I watch it again because it is fascinating. These two good friends have already passed away. I hope they are in heaven enjoying their carrier pigeons. and have gained eternity. A hug to the entire family and pigeon fanciers.

Lovely men and I get that they like the birds but the hobby itself is very cruel. The birds deserve better than that. Pigeons are great pets.

As far as I know the site remains an allotment, so they did save it It looks like the pigeon crees are no longer I'm afraid. Jackie passed away many years ago now. I'm not sure about Maurice.

@@meerkatfilmsuk - It probably doesn't matter anyways considering all of the covid nonsense, destruction of economies, and soaring fuel and food prices. I'd bet that most of the smaller pigeon lofts have either cut back significantly because of feed and fuel, if not they probably shut down altogether.

Animals are gifted a greater technology than any man made technology. They have supernatural gifts that can coexist with man because it is natural, it is good. I dont believe we can coexist outside of nature and what is intended with modern technology unless we choose to lose ourselves and actually become technology. Which is a disaster currently happening. Purposeful design with God's signature, everything else is clearly a cheap copy in terms of cost and benefit.
