Nice truck. Would be nice if the driver's action with the gears and the clutch is filmed in the video. I am curious about how the fluid drive works. Is it the same as say that of a Chrysler New Yorker or an S11 DeSoto.

That's a giant whip antenna for a CB those four or five holes there in the side of the trailer that's what that's for big giant whip antenna that used to see on old trucks but it's definitely for a CB

I rode in trucks like that when I was a child. My grandparents had several. I distinctly recall the clutch pop. I did not realize it was fluid. Family pulled house trailers of that era. It probably had electric trailer brakes. My uncle and dad would use a big trailer to get Lennox furnaces from Dayton. My dad was not in the business, but he liked to play truck. Cheers

I got my 1953 Spartanette from behind a barn for moving it..... they are extremely high quality but their old. I put a wood burning stove in mine...... if I ever reallly restore mine their valued at 60 k. I live in mine

Sorry ... but the "original" chair is as fugly as it gets and the couch does not match with the design aesthetic either. Funny what people think is good taste or desirable .... The actual trailer is fantastic. What a marvel of good quality workmanship and quality materials. Makes contemporary RVs and trailers look like absolute shit ... cheap and tacky ... huckster manufacturers in it for maximum dollar, minimum quality.

Surprised you didn’t mention or demonstrate the Fluid Drive. If you’re driving around town, you basically never need to get out of second gear. You don’t use the clutch when you stop at lights or stop signs, you just stop with the brake and then take off. Or is that not the original transmission? It was shifting way too smoothly for the original non-sync tranny. Were you double clutching?

They came from the factory with a red cab and black box? Vintage (70's?) gas pumps at 7:54.

Hood, wiper location, grille, make this truck between 1951-53.....the round fenders was last used in 1952. The front bumper is not correct, but kinda cool. There are normally two lateral bumper guards and a flat area in the center for the license plate. Some 48-53's will have the three bumper guards with the center guard taller than the rest, thou that original set-up is only for 48-50. The tape could be from the dealer as the tape was invented in 1943 and nicked name "duck tape" by soliders who used it for ammo boxes, vehicle trim repair, etc.....it was renamed duct tape, when it hit the public market. lol, true story, but probably form the more recent activity.
