There is an octave relationship between 10 20 40 80. I have 40 m end fed half wave works fine on 20 and some on 80. I haven't tried 10 but do hear CB. It's NVIS.

So Iv wondered for years now, maybe some of you will have an answer. On highway 14 west of Briggsdale and east of the Pierce cut off there is a group of 4 or 5 houses. One of those houses (south eastern most, not the farm house along the highway) has a vast antenna array. The house never has any vehicles, and Iv never seen any people there. Anyone know what that place is? Secret government facility? It sure looks peculiar.

What a fantastic down to earth video Bob, resonant antennas are the best but anything that you can get to match will work better than having no antennas at all. Keep up all your good work 73's from Liverpool the home of the Beatles. Regards Dave Fletcher. 😀

When the stuff hits the fan and people need to call their loved ones they're going to knock on your door. I'm a member of my local ARES club. Thought you may like theVHF/UHF Vertical Dipole, I saw a video for on here. It is made of 2 stanles steal welding rods bent where one part is for VHF and the other is for UHF. One of the bent rods points up the other points down mounted on some PVC pipe. The rods are 1/8 thick and 36 inches long so there is much is cut off when tuning. This would not be hard to hide. Other things you may or may not know is that NASA is asking for help from hams in the solar eclipse, for propagation study in the eclipse. I hope we have a lot of hams get going for this. This is something that hams do anyway. Thank you for the ideas you are giving out, we need to help each other. 73 W4DES

@W0BNC5 ай бұрын
A Moxon antenna is nothing more than a 2 element Yagi with the ends folded in. The driven element is the one the coax connects to. So, in the picture at 10:20, it's on the right.

I don't understand how you would allow a wife to determine that your radio can't be visible. I would do the same to her with her things. Believe me there must be something you can object too which she would then have to give in on having a radio being visible. You have given her too much power for such a mundane thing. I realize you want peace in your home. But her need for a an idealized concept of museum as a home does not trump your hobby. I have always had my ham radio equipment in our bedroom. We live in an small apartment. No there are no affordable homes in New York City. And no I don't wish to move to somewhere where I did not grow up. I have roots in my community. Again, I can't imagine a spouse dictating so much. If you have paid for half of all the expenses, you have the right to have your radios out in the open. I am not talking about the antennas, just the radio. Does she not care about you? 73 De N2LRB

Great presentation. I enjoyed the stealth of your Antennas. I've been in apartments, condo's and small yard houses. I will warn anyone in an apartment building. Be careful of your output power with indoor HF antennas. I was working nights, so I played radio at night on my days off, and while tuning up with 100 watts at 3:00 AM my RF set off the buildings fire alarms. Oops! I had a lot of fun and some frustration trying to get on the Air.
