In a word, "interesting"! There is the well-known story, but there were definitely lofted clubs with flanges well before that time. Sorry, but don't know enough about these later clubs! I do know there is probably a book here, maybe volume two after the first book on the history of bunkers. Hi Will. I think low compression is best, Wilson and Callaway have 60 compressions and lower! Feel is great and also think higher compression balls would, given time, start caving in the faces of woods. Even with an insert, don't think later persimmons could survive Pro V1s with a bit of anger.
