I like your demonstration but your terminology is off - you are “decreasing” by slip one, knit one, pass slipped stitch over” (sl1, k1, psso). This is the correct terminology, not “casting off”. I know it’s the same technique but if you are teaching beginners, you should use the standard terminology that people will encounter in most patterns.

I understand ruffling the first side as u show in the vid but I can’t wrap my brain around how u do the other 3 sides of the project 🥴

This is a beautiful pumpkin. I only wish you would have demonstrated the using a lighter color of yarn! Many ppl like myself have difficulty nd cannot see work/s done in dark colors.
