My Y580has been a great machine, the weak point was the HDD and Windows OS. I flushed windows about 10 years ago, and put a SSD in it, been running a couple of Linux Distro's on it since. Been running Ubuntu now for 7 years. It keeps booting up and chugging along. I think it has been a darn good investment as I paid about $1100 for it around 2007.

Dónde puedo conseguir piezas de repuesto para este modelo?? Me gustaría renovar la mía cambiando su carcasa exterior para que luzca como nueva. Sí entiendes que es mi gusto personal? quiero seguir utilizando esta laptop como equipo de colección y puedo gastar mi dinero en ello, por si acaso vienes a decirme que mejor compre otra laptop actual, ya tengo una, no es necesario, ésto es por gusto propio.

I still have this in 2024. It still works and I still love it. That interface is very rare now. You never see it in computers. I love the built in games on it.
