Used to be a odd style over here [In England] to razor cut the toe cap leather off DOCs [Martens] and have the steel toe cap showing or having a distressed pair like that but looking like the toe leather was kicked/buffed away to show the toe cap [You'd cheat and use a grinder or sander a bit]

School me on the bale stuff. When I get down there, is it like $40 or $60 per bale and I take as much as I want, like the whole bale if I want, or are there limits? Any info is much appreciated. I'll be bringing you back something when I get back, just for being a real one. I wouldn't even hwve known about where to go if it wasn't for your vids so much appreciated man. Hope all is well.

It really varies for bales I’ve seen bales as high as $100+! As well each rag house is different, normally you open a bale and are able to keep 50-75 pounds of what’s inside (anything over that they charge you a small fee per pound, to be honest I never pick over that amount) If you do head down I wish you luck, it is hit or miss down there!

Hey G! First time watching your content…very well made for a small account. Just like posting 5 items a day to resell, consistent videos will take you far! Other than the markets, where do you flip your thrift finds for profit? I tend to lean towards eBay and Depop. Thanks!

Thank you so much for the kind words, I’m defiantly trying to be as consistent as I can on here! I currently sell on depop as well to make extra income! I try to do 1-2 markets a week so that is where the bulk of my inventory goes!

Hey man, love how positive you are in your vids! Have you ever thought maybe you’re not selling to the right demographic/market? Shoppers in their teens-early 20s don’t have the financial stability to pay 40-50 for carhartt pants, but people in their late 20s-early 40s…. They definitely would spend the money to get a great pair of carpenters. I’d say no to these markets that are “free” just because they’re free. I think you should be reaching out to breweries and upscale markets that are in wealthier areas because people aren’t looking for deals there. They’re looking for good product that is also displayed well. Lowering your prices does a couple things: -it puts you in a mindset that lower prices is more important than creating value. Create value in your booth by putting it where there is that 20-40 age demographic. -it will make you pick up items you don’t love selling because you tell yourself “i can make money on this”. I think the best part about selling vintage is being able to curate and be proud of what you sell. Hope this helps out man!
@GerardoVillacorta19 күн бұрын

In your opinion now, Is it possible to provide for your family by selling vintage as a business?
@GerardoVillacorta19 күн бұрын
This is definitely a loaded question, and my answer is yes/no… There are huge opportunities when selling vintage like selling at pop ups, selling on eBay/depop, selling on live apps like whatnot, etc. which is great but it takes time to grow and even when developed is still not consistent income! I’m fortunate enough to live with my partner who does the same thing as me so we are able to split bills and such! Now that’s 2 people sharing a one bedroom and being frugal with money! Supporting a family surely is possible but I personally wouldn’t try it! This is all said assuming you were to sell full time! Selling secondhand is still a huge opportunity to do on the side or in your free time! Say you have the weekends off and want to do a market once/twice a month that could be an extra couple hundred dollars that can go towards bills or treating the fam! I’m not a expert but I hope my 2 cents help, thanks for supporting the channel (:
@Raqi1214319 күн бұрын
@@GerardoVillacorta This is highly appreciated brother, Thank you for your insights! Definitely need also to account the time your willing to trade between sourcing items vs quality time with the family and that is very tough. Doing it on the side will be the most ideal way to do. Thank you again!

@GerardoVillacorta25 күн бұрын
Hey man! So the prints don’t fade with the oxi, I never had a issue with that! The longer you soak the better, my general rule of thumb is to leave it overnight! As far as temp of the water, as hot as it can be! You may have to use a large spoon/stick to stir it, but the hotter the temp the more the oxi clean will work! Hope this helps (:
