I’m currently in week 4 of my first semester of college and I am so glad I stumbled across your video. It feels so incredibly isolating as a First gen highschool and college student at such an esteemed institution, but you managed to articulate the absolute clusterfuck of emotions I’ve been going through these past few weeks so incredibly well. I am not one to typically comment under videos, but your story just made me feel so seen in a time where I desperately needed to be. Thank you so so so much for posting this and I cant wait to see what you do in the future!!!

My favorite video talking about Harvard aaaa you made me tear up. You are soo precious especially when you talked about the guilt of being able to access those opportunities at Harvard. Gooo girl! I am rooting for youu

congrats on harvard, second...relatable...everything you've been through is relatable...having immigrant parents that never went to college or high school and having parents that don't speak english is a huge disadvantage in the world

You should share where your high school was located. I am glad you decided to share your video about first generation, and low income because most of us do identify like that. Having others who also are considering elite schools can relate to you.

Olive Juice! Loved the sound effects in this video. haha You are intelligent and articulate and adorable. (Are you running for president? Because we haven't had any good options for awhile. Bluh.) I can't wait to see you and SNDR soon. You always make me laugh, and I could seriously use some laughs. 2020=Eeeesh.

Also, I went to a state school, yet I still lost a lot of relationships with my friends who didn't attend college. I didn't end the relationships because I thought I was better than them. Oddly enough, they ended their relationships with me because they thought they were no longer fitting into my life. It hurt. Huh.

I'm confused about this Olive Juice? lol. I'm very glad you think think I'm intelligent, articulate, and adorable. Very flattered. I can't wait to see you either. Maybe we could do one of those socially distanced meetups where you sit on the roof of your house and I lie on the sidewalk. SNDR could sit in a car. Hmm, that's a very interesting thing. That they thought they no longer fit into your life. I should reach out to people...

@@duhnisse1847 Say "Olive Juice" in the mirror, and watch your lips. It'll all make sense. We used to whisper it across the room to our friends in class. It's a joke? from elementary school, same time as the "Look down your shirt and spell attic" joke--terrible for the bad spellers; they didn't get it. I'm scared of heights, so it's a no-go on the roof business for me, but in a few weeks we should be able to hit Maxi's again. Those booths are massive. We can get two of them and sit in the 4 corners of them. hahahaha I look forward to it.

I will say that I love my parents story of struggle and survival of being immigrants. They carry their own experiences that I’ll never understand but I am so proud of how far they came! And as a mother now, I want my daughter to not just know what I know but more so she can be better and go farther than I did so it doesn’t become cyclical.

Such an eye opener on how our students feel: leaving their comfort zone but do not stop because they are bound for greatness, just as you are. The loss of not being able to express yourself on a daily in the language you were immersed in for such a long time was saddening to me 😭. But social media has definitely found ways to fill in so many gaps on a variety of levels, maybe following influencers who speak the language on your interests will feel more at home. 🤷🏽♀️ But I understand how social media can be distracting too. I'm so glad it wasn't as big as it is now when I was in college bc I prob never would have finished any classwork 😆. Keep your head up and the content 👏🏽🤩
