I love this, I completely agree renew the Orville, glad this was recommended

A TV series discussed feminism in such a clear way that no one even understood that. I do not know if you cought it but the main theme and understanding here was that even if women cannot do certain things in the same way that men do or be at the same side of life 100%, they can rise in society in their own ways, because it is not about doing the same thing as someone else, it is about you and you only and what you can achieve and do something for yourself and for others. A great example of it would be Queen Elizabeth I and II. They were both elegant women with great mind. Both of them have done jobs that no men could ever do. If a man ruled England after Henry VIII, there would be no England. A women with her elegance and humour affected many hearts and made enemies friends. Moclan society and their issues were a representation of that. Although, both genders are different, they are the same species and they are best when together and balance in life can be found no matter what. I am amazed that this series destroyed the entire feminist propaganda in such a meaningful way.

Wow, I can honestly say I never thought of it that way. I thought the episode was about trans rights.
@ArchlordFelixКүн бұрын
@@stonygirlisahoot No. It was not and if you take a careful look. The series is in fact anti trans as being trans is scientificly proven as a mental illness or a chemical instability in body when you are a teenager. That's why we are going to doctors to keep our hormons and development in balance, otherwise it might make us unstable in mind and body. Orville however also indicated that even if you became another person through surgery, what is done is done even if it was wrong and you are entitled to any rights that every human is entitled to. The most solid evidence to that would be LGBTQ itself. Its existence was meant to help people who were born male or female mistakenly because of hormons. The reality is, when those things happened in the real world, we did not have the technology to help these people transition to their real genders and this put them in society at a very valnurable place because people thought of their illness as a bad thing. However when we discovered the methods to correct things, LGBTQ said no. You can't do that because we were born this way and we have been this way for a long time. Their suffrage made them villains and their hormonal inbalances made their minds unstable which is why some of them abuse children untintentionally. Phedophilia is the same. Hormonal inbalance always make your mind worse over time and you can't restrain yourself after a while. What Orville debated in that episode is simply that. Moclan says that being female is weakness and they are right becase moclan is focused on industry, if half of the people turn female, they will lose their domination on that sector and be at a disadvantage when forming alliances. The fact that moclan can breed males with male DNA is proof that transitioning your gender to something you were not borned to is wrong. If you take a good look, every single moclan in the series has a feminine face but a masculine body even though they are men. This is the proof that they have been doing this for so long that their bodies encrypted this inbalance and made newer generations just like them. However nature always prevailed at the end and we suddenly see a rise in number of female births. Note: Another proof is that all surgeries in the series happened as transition from male to female on those who were born female. So, its main focus is on a main point such as the background I gave earliar, but not on a general topic like being trans. If it were advocating a pro trans approach, we would see it depicted in many other ways. However, a real problem was discussed both ethicly and scientificly in that episode and even Union said that ethicly, you can't force someone to change gender and you can't go against your own species' nature. However if something is medical, you can and must follow what science tells. That's the ultimate message.

@@tonoornottono thank you for your opinion. I am a bit confused about your response though. You said you believe in me as an artist and that you respect my intelligence but then you promptly turned around and called my work "literal spam trash." So for the record, I wrote all the lyrics to this song and I edited the video for it. So by my calculation this is 60% me, 20% Suno and 20% Seth MacFarlane and team. To answer your questions. "Are you actually happy delivering that to people?" Yes. I am. Maybe not this song as much as some of the others in this collection, but overall I am happy with this project. "Is anybody happy receiving it?" Yes. I have received many compliments from my fellow fans, and for the record, that's who I made it for. It's not meant to be a top selling single. It's meant to be a fan video. I am currently writing and editing one song/video a week in addition to holding down two jobs IRL. Would I love to have the time and equipment to create "real" music? Sure. Who wouldn't? But I made a decision that not having time and resources wasn't going to stop me from being creative. Just like some comments about how people hate it aren't going to stop me from being creative.

In the Superman stories and similar ones like "Hancock" or "Homelander" from the Boys super beings when in a fight with each other tend to do a lot of destruction to their immediate environment. Granted Xalayons are absolutely NOT as strong as Kryptonians (Superman for example) and don''t have their powers and abilities so the damage and destruction would not be as bad (when Superman fought General Zod huge chunks of the city were obliterated in the fight). But I would love a scene where 2 Xalayans are furious at each other and fighting while on Earth and buildings and other structures are falling apart around them. Maybe one of them picks up a car with only one hand and throws it at the other and the other effortlessly knocks it to the side and says bitterly "is that the best you can do?" Maybe one of them could yank a telephone pole out of the ground and swing it at the other. Seeing 2 of that species fight EACH OTHER would be awesome.
@ZurroundАй бұрын
Something I find ridiculous was when she molded solid titanium like it was silly putty or play dough. The gravity on her home world was maybe 8 or 10 times stronger than Earth gravity so the people there would have been 8 or 10 times stronger than humans. Molding titanium like that would probably require HUNDREDS of times human strength and that planet is NOT a hundred times stronger in gravity than Earth. In real life not even a "Xalayan" would have been able to do that. That is a feat for a Kryptonian like Superman or Super Girl or a DC character of similar powers like a Daxamite.
@ZurroundАй бұрын
When she lost that arm wrestling match against a HIGH TECH ROBOT she was STILL probably several times stronger than even the strongest human males. Isaac still had to work for his victory before breaking her arm and ANY human would have been like a baby to Isaac with the arm going down instantly.
@ZurroundАй бұрын
It is funny how absurdly unrealistic the Xalayan race and planet are (I might have spelled it wrong sorry). I learned in biology many years ago that people would evolve to be short and very stocky in higher gravity like the "dwarf warriors" of Dungeons and Dragons mythology but that is maybe at most 2 to 3G By the time you get to 8 or 10 G the life evolving on that world would not even be humanoid at all and they just take human actors and make them look "alien" with makeup. And DAMN the vehicles (especially the ones that FLY) would be uber expensive needing A LOT of power to defy that gravity and be built to be durable as heck. That planet would NOT have been the "paradise" it appears to be with gravity that high. Making the show part comedy and silly was BRILLIANT because had the show taken itself too seriously the VIEWERS would take it more seriously and be more picky about how unrealistic it is.
@ZurroundАй бұрын
Her needing that wheelchair is actually pretty realistic in a sense (as unrealistic as this show is). An astronaut on the space station often cannot walk after months of zero G. The artificial gravity on Orville is probably approximately the same as Earth (1G) and I think her world is somewhere between 8 and 10G? Imagine a human astronaut living on Pluto for several years then trying to walk on Earth?

I wonder who would have won at arm wrestling between Data from Star Trek Next Gen and Isaac? Also, at peak strength would she have really won? As super strong as her race may be the Kaylons are HIGH TECH ROBOTS.

I highly doubt that we will be able to travel other star systems only 400 years in the future when it has been nearly 2 thirds of a century since the first space travel and nobody has gotten further than the moon. I think we need the next few centuries to be able to explore just our solar system. Traveling hundreds of light YEARS if it happens at all is thousands of years in the future.

The actress could not commit to being in every episode for whatever personal stuff might have been happening in her life (maybe other acting jobs?) and usually a show will have the character's exit be a part of the plot. I HATE it when they have the same character but change actors like in Star Trek 3 when a different actress took over Kirsty Alley's role as Savik. This show did NOT do that, just hired another Xalayan which story wise was pretty realistic. And I love that she made at least one more guest appearance at the wedding. By keeping her in continuity a little bit it felt less "generic" than a usual actor sendoff since I guess the actress was sometimes available. It reminds me of how Gates McFadden needed time off to deal with personal life issues so they did a season of Star Trek Next Gen with a different doctor and the story was that she had to serve time (not prison, maybe bad choice of words?) at Starfleet Medical and even though she was out of the picture for most of the season her son Wesley did get one episode where he got to visit her, reminding us that she is still part of continuity. If they manage a 4th season I would love a scene where she shows that she got all of her strength back. It was sad when she became weak and feeble (by the standards of her species, still stronger than any human of course), so seeing her at full strength again would be a happy sight.
