I was there, 17 years old at the time. Such a brilliant gig, James supported.

Just put Smiths St Austell into KZbin search not expecting anything and Bam! Travelled down from Exeter for this, fantastic atmosphere and great music in the short period with Craig Gannon on second guitar. Back in the days when music wasn't life and death, it was more important than that. Ha! Thank you so much for uploading.

This captures a fantastic gig so well and the early Smiths as they sounded live - not with the horrible bland production of the first album

What do you exactly mean when you say with Peter Burns? Who is he?
@TheSmithsLiveOfficialАй бұрын
Pete Burns was the lead singer for popular 80s band Dead or Alive and was quite chummy with the band at the time and accompanied them a lot on this tour so he duetted this song with em on the last show of the tour. There's also Dead Or Alive#s drummer in the background playing bongos.

I was there too. How could something so brilliant have descended into such acrimony and, in Morrissey's case, racism? "It takes guts to be gentle and kind" FFS

I was there as well and had driven from Stevenage with a couple of mates. Afterwards Johhny, Andy & Mike hang around outside and chatted with a few of the crowd which was cool. Morrisey didn't as he was too miserable too! Great times 🙂
@harveycan5820Ай бұрын
The guitar transmitter was grabbed off Johnny Marr the night before on 6-27-85. Listen to that recording and you'll see that Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now starts over in the set list.
