Great video - I only wish I had seen it a few weeks ago because I am having the same lack of communications issues with the same guy! But agree totally with your comments about Perry - great figures and great customer service. Also Steel Fist Miniatures samurai are well worth a look.

Cheap is good! I make up toy soldier sets to give away to less well off folks and sci-fi is hard to source. I'll have a hunt, thanks for the review.

Just made up a 4th Indian Division Sikhs in North Africa set for a youngster, 1:72 scale. 25pdrs are easy to source if he wants more so I made some 4.5 inch howitzers (HaT Howitzers with tyred wheels from the HaT IG18 glued to cocktail stick and superglued under the carriage). For the crews I used assorted figures, disarmed infantry and the like, with turbans either made up by trimming off the brim of the helmet and building up the turban with Uhu or turbans cut from the top of a 'bedouin' set replacing the helmets (a couple of blokes have the upper body of the 'bedouins' glued to 8th army lower torso to produce 'stripped to the waist' crews). Finding details of the unit marking for the vehicles is hard, the Indian pattern wheeled carriers had the divisional badge above the arm of service marking on the right of the front hull but I haven't found pictures showing the placement of markings on their light tanks (reece units) or the detachment of Sherman's of the 1st (later 31st) armoured division. I'll keep an eye on your progress and crib any suggestions you have (I make up the transfers myself as there aren't really any wargame friendly Indian transfer sets in 1:72).

Progress is slow and inconsistent, but I am getting there. I myself need to do some more research. I have plans to give the force a Churchill Tank soon

Yes, it looks as though they either own or sell products for "woodbine design," which have some ww2 figures. I think they are quite nice

possibly, I suppose history will always be there which is an advantage over sci-fi; that doesn't have such a solid foundation. My only fully painted army is still my early imperial romans, i do like historical figures

Wow, nice DIY piece. It's a normal thing for 3D prints to not sit flush. From what I see the guy did an amazing job as this quality is rare on etsy this days. In order to post process it, my recommendation will be to sand the joints first, use any car body kit material to fill up the gaps and sand them to remove the extra, then add 2-3 layers of primer with a light sanding between the layers. That way you will obtain a nice smooth surface, and painting will be a pleasure afterwards. I hope this helps. :) Oh, and nice video. I would like to see the end result. ☺

Thanks, I am thinking ill scratch build a Torag's helmet to go with it before I make any update video with the finished sword. Goodness knows when I will get around to that. It is a good kit and I am very happy with it, definitely recommend if your thinking about getting one. You're right, anyone who has had 3d prints before should expect a little clean up, I am so glad there isn't much work to do; I expected worse

So the length is totally down to which hilt you have as I suspected, but they are all roughly all around 120cm. The seller designed this himself and I love what he has done with dowels in his design. You can find his shop here: www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Georgica3Dprops

I long enjoyed the most massive of the Eldar Titans and am bookmarking this for future use as a size comparison. Also if you are interested and know someone who will print it for you, there's files for the old Armor Cast Revenant Titan on Cults that'd go well in your collection

I may give it a base, however it is quite stable. I tried to make it so but I honestly think some of it just came down to a bit of luck as I built the legs first. Thank you, ill paint it within the next 10 years haha

I agree, those Ashigaru 3d print arguebusses look like bazookas! - Also, Ashigaru DID NOT carry the 2 swords! - only a short sword called a 'Loan Sword' probably similar to a Wakizashi.

I have been watching Shogun, learning a few details through that show. I bought some 'steelfist miniatures' not too long ago, they match up very well next to the perry, highly recommend
@alessiodecarolis4 ай бұрын
Nice minis, about the scale, it's a bit unfair confronting them with a (old type) space marine, given that the latter should be a bigger human in 28/30mm, therefore they seems more humans in (stormtroopers') armour than the bulky, massive PA that we saw in the TV show. It depends also by the producer, f.e. Wargames3D, on Etsy, on request prints its models also in 28mm, and are perfectly compatible with others in the same scale, such as Wargames Atlantic or Stargrave.
@Lochagos4 ай бұрын
I clearly show the scale in the video. They are themed off of F3 & FNV not F4 or the tv show, meaning their armour is slim lined as you say. The fact you know what a space marine is, is why I always use one as a comparison because everyone knows. Scale is from the foot to the eyes and I gave the figure some lee-way due to the armour suit because he was taller at 34mm, you can see this here 04:07. You are right in what you say, I am sure most companies like the ones you mentioned get scale bang on, its just my experience on 'Etsy' has been poor regarding scale; as you can clearly see these are a whole half a cm taller than promised

I have dealt with both Wayland Games and Firestorm Games. Firestorm are brilliant and can't recommend them highly enough but Wayland Games not so good. They can take ages to ship purchases because they list things as available when they don't actually have them on their shelves. You get things cheap from them but can wait months and months. Firestorm on the other hand often deliver before the money has had a chance to leave your bank account.
@Lochagos4 ай бұрын
I once waited nearly half a year for an order to arrive when using Wayland, I had to phone them in the end. I do like Firestorm, I have only been using them for a year now but I couldn't agree with you more.
