"If there is already something stored at that location, then the value must be a duplicate and the value will not be stored" - Well that is NOT TRUE AND IT IS TOO much of simplification as for educational content... The collisions can and do appear in hash sets too! Two unique values can receive the same bucket index from the hash function...

Well, if you wanted to dynamically store data at runtime, you should have used an array list, like a vector tho this would have not made searching for a specific value faster.

yes, python dictionary is basically an implementation of hashmaps but has a lot of extra features the same way lists in python is a mix of an array and a linked list
