Reminds me of the movie Disturbing Behaviour, about a high school that brainwashes kids into model students. "Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!"

So this is the end of the series, then? What a shame. I watched the entire series over the course of a few nights. Analog-horror is my newest *film love*. Hope you decide to make more, I think the story has a lot more to say.

The weatherman always claims its raining & they shouldn't go out.....yet we see the student president & students walking around in sunshine. Clever way to fool the students into staying in.....eerily accurate to REAL life. People all seem to have IPhones glued to their faces & believe whatever Channel 8 News tells them.

Wasn't she kicked out of the broadcast in the last show?? Or was that just an evil rant?

5:00 Interesting how the host is looking more 'un-Stepford-ized', he looks hungover or very troubled indeed. Interesting plot-point!

Love how they call it 'Wormwood'! The reference coming no doubt from Revelations, about a place that becomes 'not so nice'.

A huge feat achieved by this team. Always loved the G7. A lot can be done with little. The main upgrade to take this to the next level would have been pro audio. You guys are already there in terms of everything else. Great composition.

Nice work guys, you certainly seem to have maximized the G7's potential and the framing, lighting and shot composition are all on point based on what you've chosen to show in the trailer so looking forward to watching it in full.

Malady Rising started off as a fleeting idea for a five-minute short film in our high school film program. This was all the way back in March 2020, just as the lockdowns were beginning. Hopeful that the pandemic would be short-lived, we continued on writing. As the pandemic raged on, we kept on writing, discovering that this story of a patient-nurse relationship actually had a lot more depth to explore. While there was a brief moment in time where we thought the pandemic would stop us from ever making this film, we were able to capitalize on a brief moment of low cases in early 2021 and shoot this film, almost 9 months after originally penning it. However, what had started as a 5-minute short film for high school had exploded into an independent feature production. With a crew that was mostly between 15 and 18 years old, a $500 camera, and some cheap hand me down lights, we embarked on our most ambitious effort yet. The film explores loneliness, which ended up being a fitting theme during the pandemic. But it is also about the value we place on the authenticity of relationships. At its core, it’s a drama about being lost, directionless, confused - something I think we all experienced during the pandemic. We drew inspiration from 60’s Italian cinema, with slow moving, long shots focused mostly on framing. And we hope that the surprise ending causes the audience to reflect on the previous 90 minutes in a whole new light. While we finished filming in early 2021, we had trouble finding the right score to pair the film with, along with the exact edit. Since we had no experience working with a film of such length, we had to learn with time, and we now present what we believe is the best version of the film.
