Impressive content, Stonesoup. Looking forward to your next video from you. I smashed the thumbs up button on your upload. Keep up the fantastic work! Your insights on the psychological aspects of hunger and sustainable eating changes are so enlightening. How do you suggest someone begins to tune into their body's signals if they've been following strict diets for years?

Jues, this is lovely information. Thank you! I find myself helped by 'Fast Like a Girl''. It's brilliant info. No, not all about fasting, haha. But 'fasting' (eating just fat/butter or just sardines, etc) can be extremely helpful in resetting metabolism and encouraging balanced hunger hormones or even just shrinking the stomach's expectations. :) It was uncommonly helpful to me. Of course, for those who have an eating disorder, I wouldn't recommend. But for those of us with insulin resistance who are already eating well with ongoing weight or insulin issues, fasting (of any form one can personally tolerate) is HUGE for breakthrough. I didn't realize that healthy fat was so good for my blood sugar before this. It's a game changer!

Thank you for the great examples of being in the moment - listening to our senses! I had an epiphany this month that I truly needed. While exercising twice a day and eating carefully I had not maintained weight. I needed more sleep and rest! I also needed fat as a snack, instead of protein, interestingly. For instance, One tablespoon of butter does not raise my insulin (olive oil, coconut oil etc.) Note: Nut butter will likely NOT work - it contains carbs and makes me hungry. So now I'm exercising once a day, snacking fat, and napping when possible and sleeping in on Saturday. Yes, it feels SO good! (And I lost weight without losing muscle. :D)

One year ago I stopped white sugar on my coffee and tea. (still have a couple squares of dark chocolate once a week) I have lost an entire size after quitting sugar. I had to learn to drink hot drinks with zero sugar- it was a challenge. After about 6 months I was able to truly enjoy my hot drinks with no sweetener. Sugar will destoy your health if you over indulge.

Hi Misty!! I just saw your video and I could see how torn you are about your association with Tik-Tok and the things that they are wanting you to do . As a fellow Christian, I can tell you I agree with the many comments telling you to avoid that platform. I don't subscribe to tiktok and never will as I don't think they are a very good platform for a number of reasons. Clearly, the Lord is speaking to you through his Holy Spirit by making you uncomfortable about this. Tiktok wanting you to influence people to buy things that you know are low quality junk, that you would not buy yourself, is totally wrong and stands at opposition to your Christian values. Love seeing your beautiful kids and homestead! God bless you all, Mac's! ❤️🙏

Excellent point, you've summed it up in a way I couldn’t explain to my friends. Exactly as you said: same time every day (of course, sometimes life happens and you might miss a day), just check in, log into an app (mine is Monitor Your Weight, which I use solely for tracking the number on the scale and seeing the trend). It helps to have an overview in one place and recognize what’s going on. It has done for me exactly what you said: stopped the obsession-it’s just data. And it’s a great insight into how weight loss happens, with small losses over time. I would absolutely recommend it 🤗

yeah - i do this since a couple of years like you in the morning and it’s a habit since like brushing my teeth i made the experience that my weight varies and most of time i know why and yes of course in times like christmas there is some gaining but it’s not this feeling of failing and shame anymore - i know the scale will go down in the next days - and i’m never again afraid of weighing myself but sometimes i wondered if i become too much obsessed and better stop doing it so i’m happy that you talk about it this way - now i will go on with my habit thank you so much ❤❤❤

So very true! People are terrified of salting their food, yet it’s the most important ingredient in cooking.

Sorry, but broccoli does NOT taste as good as donut, at least not to everyone. What you are forgetting here is that some people are super tasters, so the bitterness in vegetables stands out more for them than for others. Same with sour flavors. Doesn't mean that super tasters necessarily hate broccoli. It just isn't as satisfying as, say, that donut, because they have to contend with the heightened element of bitterness (which probably registers as more of a "grassy" taste rather than straight up bitterness). Also, other elements like texture come into play. I have friends who "crave salad" and "could snack on vegetables all day." I'm fine with veg as a side dish, but for the life of me, I cannot fathom how these friends think this way, as much as I know it is the "better" way to eat. There is more biological predisposition involved than just deciding that vegetables taste as good as a donut.

Thanks for this reminder - and good point that super tasters have a different experience. I wonder if I’m bitter blind 😀

I suggest you slow down your delivery and stop rambling on and on in circles. Get your information and points together and make them. Your disjointed delivery makes trying to hang in there with you, to understand what you’re trying to say, really annoying. You seem to be a lovely person with a desire to help others. If you would just fine tune your message without all the disjointed rambling, you’d be successful with your purpose. Please don’t take this as a nasty assault. It’s not meant to be that at all. Just an observation meant to maybe help your efforts. May you achieve your desire to help others

What about when you feel like you're already eating pretty minimal amounts at meals, don't snack, eat quite healthy foods most of the time, watch sugars, fats, etc? Do you cut it down even more so that you're just eating a few ounces of food at each meal? And please don't say "hidden calories" because am very aware of that. A person doesn't want to be hungry and miserable all the time.
@julesstonesoup6 ай бұрын
Great question - I like to really focus on listening to my body to guide me on quantities. So some day yes i’Ill only need a really small amount but other days it will be more. I always make sure I feel that satisfied point so I’m not leaving the table hungry

Thank you for posting that detailed video, which I found honest and helpful. I am trying to stop feeling shame around eating too much and my weight. It really helps to just accept my current circumstances and love myself as I would love any overweight friend or family member, whose weight has no impact on my feelings or respect for them. I just realized as I was listening, it wasn’t until i became overweight that I started to refer to any overeating I did as binging. It was just feasting, or overeating during a holiday, or something like that, before that time. The overweight appears to be partly a menopause thing, and just focusing on my health helps my self-esteem more than anything, no matter what I feel about the extra weight. Also I found helpful the idea of asking myself if I will feel better after I eat something (when I’m not physically hungry). That might actually nip some of my binge eating in the bud if I can pause long enough. I also appreciate the gratitude hack, which I am going to do as my own stretch.

You HAVE inspired me, Jules, thank you! I've been following you for years but am seldom logged on to comment. Today, happy exception, I am letting you know the degree to which you have been an encouragement to me on my low-carb, healthy cooking adventure. Chronic fatigue has meant my cooking must be simple, and you certainly do simple WELL. Blessings! <3
