My bike doesn't have tubes that go to the airbox because it isn't the California version. So how do I do this??? I cant figure it out

Tuning and Synchronization are not the same thing. Tuning is setting idle mixture/float height/(maybe re-jetting) to adjust the carbs to meet the fuel needs of a modified or stock vehicle to be started and running without hesitation in the application of throttle. Synchronizing cannot make the vehicle run, but is done on a running vehicle using a reading from vacuum at the engine intakes to determine if each throttle plate or slide is at the same adjustment so that the equal airflow is achieved, which helps with idle smoothness and throttle range smoothness of a properly tuned system. If an engine is idling at e.g. 1000RPM, whether it's running lean or rich according to the fuel adjustments, the cylinder still has a fixed volume of air displacement at each stroke as constant as the RPM remains relatively constant creating vacuum. Even if you Synchronized the carbs on a special make-believe vacuum bench that is exactly like the condition of a running constant motor, you would still have to Tune the fuel screws for those carbs to start a vehicle and run correctly. Is this getting through?

I first saw a Black Shadow more than fifty years ago and the exhaust note it produced has firmly rested in my memory ever since, The note from this Norvin is a great reminder and took me back to a more simple time.

Nice to see these old bikes running, the way i start a gold star is retard the ignition, turn the engine through two full cycles to draw fuel into the cylinder, then bring the engine up against compression, ease it over until it is just past top dead center, open the throttle just a hair and kick it over very firmly and make sure you use the full travel of the kick start lever, always starts for me first kick. You have to understand what is going on in the engine and where you position it for kick starting.

I bought a 64 back in 76, really enjoyed it, ended up selling it in the eighties, one of many bikes I regret selling. I just bought a 78 this year, and have been enjoying it this summer. Just had to check this video out, the bikes looked too nice to pass by. Thanks for showcasing a pair of beautiful triumphs!

Back in the '60s I had a '58 Venom Clubman. It could be difficult to start. One day I cut my left forefinger at work. After getting it bandaged at A and E, I couldn't pull the decompressor to start it. Everybody in the works had a go at starting it without success. In the end, three of them pushed me, but on a flat road, even that was hard as it tended to lock the wheel in second. Finally it fired and I struggled home, mightily relieved.
