I met Mr. Dave in some Facebook groups about these old Fords. He sends me pictures of this awesome LTL from time to time. A very nice guy and a very sharp truck.

You should get a voice job as a sports commentator announcing the golf play-by-plays! I had a 1985 L9000 (short hood version) with a 300 Formula Cummins. Was a good truck but no jake. I sure wouldn't want to come down off Hamilton Mountain with 27 tons behind me in heavy traffic....

I grew up in the 70's and 80's and around here (Ontario Rustbelt) there were lots of them in the day. They all rotted out and ended up scrapped. and vanished. L series were the Model T of commercial trucks for 30 years.

I miss driving an LTL9000 with a 425 cat or a 444 Cummins. 18 speed cat and 15 speed double over Cummins nothing like big motors.

I've got an 88 with a Big Cam IV. It's been a great truck. Your's looks like it has a newer dash assembly and steering wheel. Mine has the butternut interior and the older style steering wheel. I wish I had a new dash because mine is cracked.

Soybeans? Food grade. Animal feed? Well, it's a Port. Overall the neighborhood doesn't look too shady.
@JG-zn1yj8 ай бұрын
Yes soybeans 👍
@3furrows8 ай бұрын
It depends. They delivered crushing facility in Hamilton called Bunge. At that particular place they process soybeans(and other oilseeds ie Canola) to extract the oils from them to be further processed usually into products for the energy sector however soybean oil is used as an ingredient in food products as well(margarine, salad dressings, bread and others). The solid component of the crushed soybeans usually goes to animal feed mills to be combined with other ingredients to make specialized animal feeds.
