It's the worst feeling. I definitely don't like playing the puck. I'm forcing myself to learn to play better. The downside is I'm learning in beer league and not shinny, haha.

Why is it labelled helmet cam gets hit.
@mmitnik7 сағат бұрын
That's the link to the main video. My helmet cam got hit and the file got corrupted so I didn't even get the sweet pov video of it getting hit. Also my battery died so double whammy. if you wanted to see the camera get hit. click the link and fast forward to 4:58.

As a ref, i can honestly say the only 2 people that acted more like a baby than the chap that got slashed was the 2 stripes who were gloves. Not even an outdoor rink. Great saves nonetheless. Glad to see some of your mates realized it wasnt game 7.
@mmitnik12 сағат бұрын
Thankfully, our later games weren't as chippy. Intense, but no shenanigans. I wish the ref called the earlier infraction on my teammate, but he might not have seen it right away and probably decided not to call anything when the guy acted like he did.

Great job. Almost had it. I think the only thing that I found to comment about is how you kept your 5 hole wide open and I think you are pushing a bit too hard at some times so you are getting to far out of the net than required. It would make it harder to get back to save another goal so just a tip. Keep up the good work and keep posting.👍
@mmitnik4 күн бұрын
Thanks! Yeah. I've definitely been working on that 5 hole. It's definitely something I've noticed since I started recording myself. I think my pushes are fine, but I'm not stopping the slide in time. So a lot of my games I'm moving way too far out of my net causing myself difficulties making the next save.

Great game with a lot of saves. I don't really know how you could have gotten to that one but I think if the post didn't move, you would have had a better push off and might have gotten there. You was really calm when the stick was out of your reach. You never panicked and just tried your best with what you had and it paid off. Keep up the good work. 👍

Yup. That’s pretty much it. Didn’t call the slash. It escalates and they call a penalty on both teams to try and cool things down. It does work as the rest of the game didn’t have any after whistle shenanigans.

No goal, and not just because I have a bias for goalies but the rule is 100% of the puck has to be over the line. It was clearly still sitting on the line. And the implication of "It's beer league" is that the ref is fat and won't skate over.
@mmitnik24 күн бұрын
Haha, I'd imagine from the angle that he was at he assumed I fished it out or something. Thankfully, this goal call wasn't during the playoffs. They sometimes give me quick whistles so I'll let em off the hook haha.

Good job in this game. You made a lot of amazing saves and the ones that you didn't save were from the opponent having good control over the puck. Your positioning is almost the best though you got unlucky and had the same person score on you a lot. He is good at aiming at the corners so don't feel bad about yourself. I think the only way the save his is to have better reaction speed or to be more flexible. Other than that, there would be almost no other way. After looking at the puck, I don't think that was a goal as it never fully went past the red line though the refs weren't in position to see what happened. He did poke at your quite a lot so I don't know why it was called as a good goal. The ref also didn't try to get there quickly to see it so you can say that they refs were calling against you. There were more instances though I won't mention it as this post would get a bit too long. I think another way you could improve is to try to get your left leg especially down faster as 2 goals was created from it going underneath there. Overall, good match with great saves. Keep posting and keep up the good work. You just got unlucky here so don't take it personally and hopefully you get your revenge. 👍

Yeah, he got a little heated. I doubt he knew he would poke me in an unprotected area. The refs did let it play a bit too long but they reeled it in afterwards and the game was relatively fine after that. I find missed calls in beer league always tend to cause tantrums.

Oh yeah. Definitely not the best start and a couple of goals I would have liked back. As for the incident, I was fine after the penalty, and after realizing he got slashed so he was obviously hot-headed and wanted to score. There were no hard feelings after the game.
