No matter how good this is not about the guitar player. It's about Charles Brown one of the few true immortals of the Blues

The great Charles Brown. I caught him in Seattle at Jazz Alley years ago. Table next to Charles to watch to watch his hands. What a voice and pianist. Deep blues boys, oh Yeah!

I listen his music from 2004, and now this song is a big rediscovery. (After the studio version this is awesome with this high note at the end of the song. His tools, colors are so rich and surprising😍)

Does anyone know when and where this was recorded? I’m guessing late 90s early 00s?
@WilliamCrow Жыл бұрын
Not in this clip, but Joe Ferrante played trumpet for a while with this band. He was greatly admired by Nick Travis. A lot of New York's finest played with this band, while it lasted. Years later, Wally Kane organized a memorial concert with many of the original players. He found a Sunday at Town Hall that was available, and only on the day of the concert did he realize that it was Super Bowl Sunday. As a result, they only attracted less than half a house, but the concert was wonderful. (This was after Sauter had passed away. ) Afterward, Bill went to the microphone and said, "Eddie would have loved this. It's been the story of this band, a great idea at the wrong time."

I heard this in Isle of Dogs but I’m sure it’s in loads of other stuff and I can’t think of what specifically ( I feel like it could’ve been in home alone, Harry Potter, the polar express and doctor who but I can’t see it in any of those soundtracks )

The awesome thing about the blues is its "timelessness"...this song was originally recorded in 1950 or 1951 - just listened to it today on a blues compilation CD from local library. 70+ years later. Still. Awesome.
