I have a small boat with a limit of holding a 42kg motor do you think I’d be able to put a 51kg motor on with no problems

It's not something I can advise. But it's definitely something I would be willing to try if it was my own boat. What type of engine? If it's power you are after, you would be doing great with a 2-stroke. If you're putting a 15hp 4-stroke with 50kg's on it, that would just seem like unnecessary evil to me. A 15hp 2-stroke would cost you around 35kg. A 25 around 50. Only the newest generations of 4-strokes are comparible with 2-strokes in term of weight

Hallo Pieter, I have a 277 sib rated for maximum 6hp. I know already that my sib can support 9.9 hp without any problems of safety. I just worry in case of a police control. What can happen to me if they really want to make me bad things? (Everything is registered, and I have a boat license) the only thing it's I'll be overpowered for 3.9 hp more... Hartelijk bedankt als je kan me antwoorden.

Het is niet verboden, ze kunnen je dus niets maken. Je kunt je boot alleen niet meer verzekeren.

Could the transom hold it? Did you do any mods?

The transom was totally fine. The only mod was a SS bracket that was putting the engine 3cm higher, as well as providing a little extra transom strength. The points where the transom was glued to the tubes were not reinforced.

@@Daandeslions how much hp is the max recomended for this boat? I have a zodiac yachtline 310 rib. it says the transom can hold 15 hp but i want to put the same yamaha behind it. Do you think it can hold that?

@@pietervanderhulst3444 it was rated for 9,9hp. You must understand: this rating is mostly based on what is safe to handle. I see boats with low ratings all the time, which in strength could handle a lot more. A zodiac (which is also a brand.. if you have a rib from this brand, you've got yourself a very sturdy rib) rib of 310cm is more than strong enough to take this lightweight 25hp. Planing was a little bit difficult, due to the fact that the engine was almost the same weight as the boat. But your boat should be heavier due to the fiberglass hull/transom. My hull was the same material as the tubes.
