I bought a hummingbird Helix DI last year and from my experience you can only achieve these DI images with MEGA unit running MHZ frequencies.

Humminbird, this process and the numerous instructions to update software does not reflect well on your ability to innovate let alone serve your customers. Why can’t we just plug a cable into the computer then plug the other end into the Helix and follow directions. It like we are in the MS DOS era. Why not update over wifi or Bluetooth . We can do it with complex phone software. This is bush league.

"Cables come in 5 feet increments" then they show it goes from 20 to 30 feet. Lol If only they also made short extension cables that would be helpful too. 🙄 Needed about 35 feet to hook up a Ulterra and now I have 60 feet of cable. What a joke!

I think I have noticed the order in which the components are powered on makes a difference with the ethernet switch. I have solix 12 and 15, Ultrex Quest and 360. My lakemaster is in the 15 Solix at console. I turn on ethernet switch and trolling motor first. The other day the Solix 12 up front powered on first and would not read the map card from the 15" unit. I assume whichever unit comes on first is considered the master unit and if no map card was installed in that unit it wouldn't transfer to the other unit. I made sure the 15" came on first this last time and all worked fine.

Excellent presentation and a quick question. I plan on installing a bow mounted minnkota trolling motor on the BACK of my boat. I have a rail and other stuff in the way in the front. Obviously, if it’s mounted on the back when the trolling motor turns left the boat will go right and vice versa. But if you use ipilot and possibly a heading sensor for your tracks and waypoints, will the trolling motor steer the boat properly, even though it’s mounted in the back?

I’d love to get involved with this. There are allot of smaller lakes in northern Illinois that have 0 charting done with lake master.

App does not give you navigational features that I would expect. Paying extra for Lakemaster maps but unable to travel to waypoints as if I had a linked Humminbird unit.

I have done this over and over. followed the instructions very closely. I keep getting a notification saying update file invalid once i get to inserting the card into the head unit. I'm attempting to update to the 2.28v because the current version is 2.010, what's wrong? is my unit corrupted faulty?

I have an Apex 19, Apex 16, and an Apex 13 along with Mega 360, Mega Live, Ulterra Quest, and Cannon Optimum downriggers on my Striper trolling pontoon. The Apex imaging clarity is awesome and everything is connected and can be controlled through my Apex units.

Thank you for the video. Maybe there is a setting in humminbird that allows you to not stop echolocation when marking points and using other functions of the echo sounder? Lowrance has it. The side scan works continuously, but the Humminbid stops the scan and we get white spots on the side beams. Thank you!

What a sad joke fishing has become with this ridiculously expensive technology. Cruise around in your boat looking at a screen to find fish and when you do stop and cast to them. You can also see your lure now? There's zero art, effort, skill, or integrity. Zero accomplishment and it's cheating. What happened to understanding Bass behavior, reading waters, and casting different lures to locate fish? Let the fish tell you what they want. Sad.
