PAX and PBIS are both con games. This is communism in motion and in plain sight. Allow me to explain: The abandonment of the first day of school research and daily objective formal instruction is what is making con-artists and snake oil salesman, such as this program and those who peddle them, exist within State Boards of Education and school districts. The statistics/charts PAX produces on their website are fraudulent. Look them up. At face value, they are impossible. PAX and PBIS teach students to hate learning while wasting copious amounts of time in the classroom not engaging in reading, writing and arithmetic. These programs purposefully require students to call out each other in public and explain their mistakes to the entire class. This is beyond outrageous. If you are a teacher and you believe this is a positive thing for students, then you to have been indoctrinated and taken advantage of as well. America's school systems fail because of this nonsense. This is why middle school teachers are upset that their incoming students don't know enough. The same is true with incoming high school students and their teachers as well. If any administrator or teacher implements any version of these gimmicks within a middle school or high school setting, you are creating a level of internal strain within students and effective teachers that will have nothing but unfortunate consequences. You wonder why the teacher turnover rate is as high as it is? These two programs spit in the face of proven qualitative and quantitative research that dates back over half a century regarding motivation, human development, child psychology, school-based sociology, general strain and self-efficacy. The carrot/donkey effect has be proven to never work. The donkey always kicks off the rider, kicks the rider in the head, and then eats the carrot. If parents don't wake up and demand an end to these "practices," it is they who will be managing the lack of achievement within their children in the future. This is why you have a "snowflake generation."

What kind of crazy, asinine comment is this? Ghetto schools! Minority! Who uses those words anymore in a country that is no longer majority white? And children of all backgrounds need fun and discipline!

@@averaa7 This was exactly my point. I work with all types of kids.and adults. I am a minorty in the schools I work and teach in, and yes I still use the word 'minorty'. And I had lived in a neighborhood that would have been considered a 'ghetto', by some back in the 1970's where racial roits were common.

I go to this school but I'm in 6th grade so at least I don't have to do this. My teacher is the best and that's Mr.Stevenson and my last name is Stevens but i'm not related to him.

Behavior techniques work on all living things...children, adults, dogs, cats...doesn't matter. Have you ever been in charge of 20-30 children for 6 hours a day, 180 days a year? It's not that easy.

You know what Sandi, There are some things that work with some students, and This is something that works. My students love the PAX GBG. If it works, use it. I have seen some teachers who will blow a whistle, and I see nothing wrong with using a harmonica.

Sandi, as an F.Y.I., it's asses.. that should be plural just like teachers & heads. Perhaps if you paid attention in class you'd know this information.

Sandi , How about doing everyone a favor and only speak for yourself because if the technique works for the teacher and the students of the teacher then guess what ? , it becomes the code for them so to speak . How about you do what works for you instead of judging others for doing what works for them ? Thanks !

For any parents looking for parenting help, this video is not worth your time. It looks like nothing more than an infomercial to sell the Triple P method to government/businesses - all fluff, no useful info.

Notice how quite and on task the young people were while playing the PAX Good Behavior Game. They actually played it for nearly 30 minutes. This is one of the last weeks of school.
