1 year later: - Traffic has not decreased in Poynton, instead induced demand has created car journeys - nobody walks or cycles on this route as the pavement basically ceases to exist about half a mile from Adlington So yet another greenwashed waste of tax payers money, brought to us by the absolute racket that is Highways England.

The project hasn’t finished yet. The dual carriage way as part of the works down most of Gilden Way before Churchgate Street is still coned off to a single carriageway by the new watercourse pond built from the motorway into Harlow and is causing a hazard to road users. I’ve seen many a near miss of an accident there as there is no signage and I haven’t seen anyone there doing anything for months.

I don't believe for one second the flyovers were in as decrepit a state as was claimed. I grew up on double decker buses travelling across them. Doesn't mean it wasn't their time to go, but I'm a cynical soul used to dealing with corrupt local government. In any case, time to move on.

Because our Corrupt " Mayor " was into god knows what and if not to rub Salt in the Wound, His scally son is being investigated for the way he was successful in being the winner of a contract to deliver the Health & Safety package to oversee their demolition of said structures, despite him having any experience in this field and company`s with excellent portfolio`s in this type of work were turned down.

They only started building this at about the same time as the whole Crossrail was due to be finished!!! Only in third-world Britain could this degree of incompetence exist. I suppose change the population and you change the country.
