Kudos for these videos Howard. I can’t tell you how helpful content like this is for broadcasters and journalists who like to prepare for future interview opportunities with an artist. For those of us who are interested in process, and cannot do what you do, it is always enlightening to learn how our musical first responders create.

I am blessed to own a 1964 Super Reverb that I have had since it was slap brand new. Also have a 1966 Super Reverb with a 1X15 which is currently getting some new curlers and nail paint. Fun stuff. I have an old D-130 I need to get out to Upland Speaker Service when I save up my allowance. LBJ sounds great in your Vibroverb amp! NIce playing. Nice presentation. Seems like you are a nice kid (I'm 77 ... EVERYbody's a kid to me!).

Not sure if I missed this - what are the eq settings on the super and vibro and it sounds like you're mostly using a neck pickup?
@mahantheband20 күн бұрын
Vibroverb: Input 1 of channel 2, Volume 5, Treble 6, bass, 6, reverb, 2.5. On the Super: Input 1 of channel 2, V 5.5, Treble 5, Mid 4, Bass 3.8 (just under 4), Reverb 3.5. And if you're curious, on the Gibson, Volume/Treble/Bass are all on 10. A lot of the neck pickup for sure, a couple of times I switched to the neck/middle and used the bridge.
@drewcaster20 күн бұрын
@@mahantheband Thanks. My DRRI and Princeton Reverb are usually set at treble 5 and bass 4.

I have some questions. I noticed your guitars out on a stand in the amp room. Don't they dry out sitting out in the open like that? I had an Ovation 6 string sitting on a stand in my living room, and the bridge tore off of it from getting so dry. And, definitely yes. Would like to hear each amp individually.
@mahantheband23 күн бұрын
I keep the acoustics all in a room together that's pretty temperature stable and have a basic humidifier going. When I used to live in another place, I had a guitar crack on me, so I try to be pretty mindful of where the acoustics live. And you got it! Check this one out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIqooImHq9iKaaM
@monkeyfinger794923 күн бұрын
@@mahantheband Thanks for the reply. I keep all my guitars in the case with sponge humidifiers in each case - including the electrics. As far as the electrics, it depends if you feel that they sound better dried out. But I have a Les Paul that was exposed to moisture before I bought it and it sounded better than when it dried out. So I decided to keep a small amount of moisture in every case after that.

Old Gibson amp sounds like a tweed/jtm45. Really fills out the blackface fender sound!
@mahantheband25 күн бұрын
agreed! I don't have any old tweed amps, but I'm on the look-out for that exact reason! It's really interesting how it responds to clean boosts, it doesn't get any louder, it just compresses in on itself.
@erichorn83325 күн бұрын
@@mahantheband right! I had my jtm45 dialed in with my fuzz and volume knob maxed. Great Hendrixy tone. I got a super reverb and paired the amps together. Amazing tone. However, I had to lower the volume knob on all my pedals, especially fuzz to make the amps respond evenly. Insane amount of headroom those supers have. Excited to hear the new record. Thanks for sharing!

I have that same Casino in Ebony...great guitars with a lot of range for what they do. I also love P90s...I go between the Casino, 335 and a tele for electrics..you have a great guitar collection there
@mahanthebandАй бұрын
Thank you! Agreed! The range for the Casino was more than I expected when I got it. And I love the 335's, I'm a little more comfortable physically on a strat, but the 335's just seem to sound the best. I love when other people play tele's but I just haven't found one yet that I really connect with.
