Van Sant ended the streak with a run of 6.720 at 201.31 mph to beat defending World Champion Herrera, who wasn’t far behind with a respectable 6.754-second run at over 200 mph. Herrera’s record-breaking run of 12 straight victories and 46 consecutive round wins, a string that dated back to last September’s championship round in Reading, Pennsylvania.

At the NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA on July 21, 2024. A dramatic and unforgettable moment in NHRA history. Ron Capps' engine erupted in a spectacular explosion after the car lost traction, and he was forced to modulate the throttle. Despite the violent nature of the explosion, Capps demonstrated his veteran composure and remarkable reflexes, managing to keep the car under control amidst the chaos.

I was there with a female friend i grew up with and my now ex- lady. The friend and I were like "doesn't this bring back memories from our teenage years in English class talking about this band, videos, and their songs"? Hi, you're lucky to live in Anacortes, a small beautiful town. I always come to Oyster Run every year. Usually there are about 10,000 bikes at the Oyster Run, it's the largest motorcycle rally in Pacific Northwest. Thanks for your comment. I really appreciated it. I was lucky enough to get tickets to this gig. Travelled down from Vancouver by myself. Was meant to be way up in the bleachers, got myself down onto the field beside the stage. Worth every penny
