Glad for your journey. Some tips from someone who was once in a group that eventually became hard to leave: Keep your own bank account and build a savings. Read books and stay nourished from those in the community AND those outside of the community. Keep your own means to leave if for any reason you ever want to, and make friends with people outside of the group. It's good to live in community. It's also good to have your own agency to leave and go elsewhere if ever you want to.

Omg, communal activities that don't revolve around some purchased product(s) have gotten so rare in "mainstream" anglophone society

What about winter? What about when the house is built & you have no place to stay? Hopefully you are sober living also in the new lifestyle. GOOD LUCK! in the commune!

You look happy. In my twenties I downsized, was living in a federation house on 100 acres to a gardening shed out the back of a house. Now still in a good place near nature, places change and you have to rebuild. It's important to be adaptable🙏

awesome, all you need is some nice solar panels and maybe generator for emergency; and some batteries; and you'll be good to go depending on climate. i live on permaculture farm and wish that where I lived I could find more community to help with farm stuff. I'd gladly teach people how to build and cut lumber and raise cattle for the help; but in my area people grew up with this stuff and its not as special. And most of us aren't stuck in rat race, so they don't need to get away.

i do not particularly enjoy using instagram and i rarely use it. When i use it it only bolsters up insecurities i have and i quickly notice myself getting lost in the digital , rhe imaginal realm, it often feels very noisey there, and when i notice myself getting sucked into it i try to step back out as fast as i can. i do not really care for my "digital body" and its connections, as you put it,, the things i post/posted didnt especially matter to me/ i never saw them as representing me. i still use it to message people, read messages people send me and sometime i repost small local music events that i go to/like/support. But i do not like it, esp for how it weakens discernment as you put it. But that goes for the whole internet i think, mindless consumption has become its whole theme sadly

I lived in a greenhouse I built in Costa Rica for 3 years. Mine was pretty big and I had to put several layers of shade cloth over the bedroom part. It's bright and hot down there. I had a lot of different critters get in the house with me and it was quite the adventure. I miss it and I'd love to go back to stay.

I kind of aspire to do things like backpacking and being in with the nature when I’m older, or even just hiking more often. Recently/this past year I unfortunately haven’t been hiking much as I usually do. I’m hoping soon enough I’ll be able to get back to camping and hiking :)

if you like slow movies about ordinary life, I recommend the films of Abbas Kiarostami! especially "where is the friend's house?", I think you'd greatly appreciate it. Theres a wonderful clip of him on youtube talking about his work, where he exalts cinema which is able to make the audience fall asleep during the movie, yet to keep them awake for nights afterwards thinking about it. He's one of my favourite filmmakers ... and youre one of my fave people on here :) thank you for what you bring
@ginaminКүн бұрын
wow, what an honor thank you. also thank you for the recommendation i will write that name down! once i watch one of his movies i will let you know what i think. also what a wonderful quote. quiet yet impactful. stories that don't need to be loud to be heard deeply.
