I had one of these ARR kits and never could afford a radio for it. I remember hooking up the battery, twisting the speed control and letting it go in a field. I chased it for a bit and finally it wedged itself under a chainlink fence. Good times..

I had this when i was younger, I painted mine neon orange, I vacum formed a couple of bodies with 1 neon orange and the 2nd neon green (I was 11 😂) I'm sure it was heavier than my Lunch Box at the time.

Hello friend, a couple years ago you made a video with a special turbo optima gold. It was gorgeous. I wanted to replicate that same livery. I found the MCI racing website but I dont quite understand how you chose decal sheets. The decals are somewhat different from the ones you used. Any advice?

I had a Shogun and a Ninja in the late 80’s, i would have been 12 years old and the Ninja was the first RC car i built. My family shop which unfortunately closed in 2017 after 117 year trading sold Marui RC cars and i think they we bought from a company called Amerang. I still have a Tamiya Escort Cosworth which i built in the early 90’s Ive only just found your channel and look forward to watching more of your content 👍

When I was in my 20's I wanted an optima but it was way over priced so I went tamiya the tamiya Fox to be precise it was awesome, then I got the Hot Shot DAMN what a difference, that baby floated across sand and grass it was fun, I was a 20yr old child!!!

Hi! Im getting a lot of trouble with the diff in mine. The cups keep "falling out", i have no clue of why it happens. Anyone knows any way to solve this issue?

I have a ZX-5 too, lots of alloy upgrades.....and fitted with a Peak Racing Vantage 10x1 brushed motor, LRP QC2 esc, Etronix ET-2035 servo. I too had the alloy steering upgrade....it bent badly after a good few laps....now been changed back to the kit parts. I'd love those shocks on mine !. Loved driving mine, not driven off-road for 30 years......typical Kyosho, just felt so good.

I'm very late to the game for your vid, but I think it looks good. The original Turbo Optima was my first RC car in 1986. Just this week I ordered the re-release along with the LeMans 240S motor and LeMans 240S ESC from Kyosho. I also found the gold side rails and wheels, which I also ordered. I will probably go with a paint job closer to the original.

Seems like a 2wd with a belt driven system would be awesome, because you could put the motor anywhere, people are always trying to move the motors forward, for example b7 with 5 gear transmission, with a belt they could put the motor as far forward as they wanted to

May i ask Glenn when you ordered your car?, as i ordered and paid mine back in beginning of june when the page said "next shipment around july 7th", and L&L set the order to fulfilled on july forth, but it has not been shipped, so just wonder how many months you waited from order was set to fulfilled til L&L acctually sent the car to you. So i can figure out if L&L models did scam me, or if it is normal to set an order to fulfilled when it is not delivered yet, as they refuse to answer on emails. But to all others i do warn you a little about this company L&L models, as it look like i might have been scammed by them.
