Great one :-) I had one of these birds 1 week ago and I was wondering how may I know if its a male or a female ,the bird I have was rescued from abusers and lost most of its feathers and I am doing my best right now to give it a new kind of life but its so hard for me to guess the sex it is even harder than the European goldfinch! @ iantrack & vegeboyx : Please do some research before you post idiotic statements . That Goldfinch is caged in a song training cage used by fanciers to increase vocal ability . Goldfinches & canaries have been trained like this for centuries ...

Hi, I live in California (near Los Angeles). Got the bird from Birdexpress. The video is not the best representative of his song, also do not know can the song be effected next year. So far I am keeping bird with my other goldfinches, and only in spring I will see what it has. idea is to cross it (mixtro) with canary (red mosaic-dimorfic).

Where do live and how did you get this Himalayan Goldfinch plz? Keep it next to the other goldfinches if they are strong enough he will change his song :-)

This is Himalayan (wild), so normally that the song is different than pure goldfinch. Will see will his song change this year, under influence of the goldfinch song???
