RC shit has advanced so far these days from 2005.. Motor and shit on that planes still good but all the rest of it is way better
@brettbuck7362Ай бұрын
No. Almost nothing at all has changed since the 80s. The exception is that there is a lot of "buy and fly" junk flooding the market.
@DaveNorthWestАй бұрын
@@brettbuck7362 You telling me radio link systems like ELRS and digital FPV systems like HDZero and the numerous ESP32 flight control boards are not a advancement? There wasn't even GPS in the 80's
@brettbuck7362Ай бұрын
@@DaveNorthWest No, what does that have to do with modeling? That stuff is just a side-show, the entire hobby has turned into a buy-and-fly toy catalog. A bunch of guys just buying stuff because it is new and shiny. I used to be interested in RC and there are still a few people building and flying in a way I would recognize and respect, but mostly it's sport fliers gassing on about how much their airplane cost. These guys are just the early days of it, clearly some sort of prebuilt ARF trainer.

@@wa8jbt646 I did thank You, i also liked the Cincinnati river boat film too. Even though i enjoy the present day streetwalk videos, i much more prefer these "nostalgic" older ones, and thankfully the youtube is a treasure trove of them.

Who is the person Gladys is talking to?
@wa8jbt6467 ай бұрын
In the beginning she is narrating it for Bonnie. They sent a copy of this to her. The woman in the chair she talked to is Nellie Harmon, your grandmother's sister in law, married to Jerry Harmon Sr

Of course this is meaningless if you're not from Columbus, but I was born and raised here, so I gotta say this is pretty dang cool. Thanks for uploading, and more importantly thanks for thinking to tape it back in the day. BTW, did you happen to know a guy named Don DeLong at Rockwell?
@wa8jbt6469 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it. I was just starting to play with video taping. And no I don't recall the name Don DeLong. Of course there were about 5,000 of us there at that time.
