I LOVE San Juan and all of Puerto Rico. I used to visit there almost every winter while I was still working and have visited pretty much the entire island. El Morro is amazing and Old San Juan is great to wander around in with all the colorful buildings. Not far from Old San Juan are the main beach areas: Condado, Ocean Park, and Isla Verde. I used to stay in the more local neighborhood of Santurce, not far from the beaches, and loved it. San Juan is definitely a place you should return to for a longer stay. Thanks for sharing your visit!

We sailed her in 2022 out of Rome. Wasn’t a fan of the wavy cabin walls but the ship was clean, crew very friendly and the food was great. Our balcony was huge but never used it. Entertainment was top notch.

You indicated you paid $12. Did that include the cost of your chair/umbrella? Do you need reservations or can you just pay when you get there?
@travellingwestsАй бұрын
Thanks for your comment. The $12 was per person and it included the chair and umbrella. I made reservations through Viator but I later learned that you can also go directly through Harbour Lights. I paid in advance online with Viator. I would make a reservation because the cruise ship also used the Harbour Lights facility as one of their excursions so it fills up quickly. Safe travels.

British Airways introduced a new route in 2023. London to Aruba via Antigua. I tried it out. My Conclusions. Aruba is very hot and very humid 24/7/365 like 80C and 90% RH at dawn, as the sun rises it gets worse. The Capital is geared up for visiting cruise ships and the stores sell the expensive tat that nobody wants. Sorry buit I can't recommend it. The only good thing is that the Airport is close to the Capital.

Thanks for your comment. I didn't realize that British Airways had a route to Aruba. Some people love Aruba and others not so much. You are spot on....it's very HOT! Lol.

@@travellingwests The BA Route was a trial for 1 year and would become permenant if the Load Factror made it profitable. It operated Thursday and Sunday only. On my trip the London to Antigua leg wes almost full but the Antigua to Aruba leg was maybe 50 passangers. The aitcraft was a Boeing 777.

We have cruised with 6 cruise lines, and have wanted to do NCL… we do balcony or suites only. The Epic has intrigued me, but that bathroom set up for the balcony cabins is a deal breaker for me. Not only am I germaphobe about handwashing and that outside the toilet room sink, but I also hate the idea of sleeping in a bedroom where sewer gases can come up from the sink or shower. Yuck. Ship plumbing is always a problem as it is, without sleeping next to an open pipe. Total dealbreaker, even though I love the layout of the ship.
@travellingwests2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. The cabin bathroom on this ship is a major issue for a lot of people. We learned to live with it though it was not ideal. Take care and safe travels.

@travellingwests2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. As far as the upgrade offer, the ship wasn't completely full and they had a lot of single passengers on that voyage. So they upgraded us to a balcony and put the single individual in our original interior cabin. I don't know if that is common for transatlantic off season cruises. Hopefully we can do another repositioning cruise in the future. Safe travels.

Excellent video and new subscriber. I also sometimes put together a DIY tour based on tours you see on Trip Advisor, etc. to save money.
