You can't just stick your foot through the floorboard. Going negative with torque reduction doesn't necessarily make the car faster. @@jordanmachell4076 I would leave the torque reduction at 0 for D, -25 in sport and -25 in manual, but change the shift speeds to medium, fast, and fast for all 3. Set max rpm to 4300rpm in drive, sport, and M modes. Select "relaxed+" for shift points in sport mode (so it hangs gears at part throttle). Yes. With your foot against the kickdown switch you are WOT. Leave the kickdown enabled, because it's nice to be able to whack it real fast for a quick downshift. For stock fuel, this turbo is the best, because it spools the fastest out of all of the big turbos and gets you the largest range of power delivery within that 350 horsepower. The 2860 itself is capable of 400whp but that's pushing the turbo itself pretty hard, which isn't something you ever want to do. *SOLUTION:* Let the truck idle for about about two hours. The heat in the engine bay was enough to melt the ice and get the sensor working correctly again. If this doesn't work then wait longer. If after 4 hours this doesn't work then you may have a clogged EBP sensor/tube and then you'll have to take off the tube to clean it and use a paper clip to gently clean out the down-pipe that the tube attaches to. This just happened to me too in -40F. Interestingly enough this symptom doesn't occur when you're in Park (neutral). I know a guy that doesn't have EGR/DPF and he doesn't have to worry about carbon plugging up the EBP as much.

Hey question man, I have a focus st with fbo and 95k miles. Do u think this is a safe turbo to get? Like are you running any forged parts or like supporting mods? Thanks
@GTkyle
@GTkyle Жыл бұрын
The safety is all going to be in the tuner's hands really. I chose Edge Autosport because Alan tunes with that philosophy. I'm not concerned about your car having 95k, as long as all your maintenance is up to date and the car has been well taken care of, mileage isn't much of a concern. Speaking of, Make sure you do an oil change, coolant, and spark plugs when you put the turbo on. Don't reuse the old stuff with a brand new turbo. As far as supporting mods, you already have them. The only thing I recommend is upgrading the bypass valve from the plastic unit that the turbo comes with. The powermax requires you to purchase one from a focus RS. Your ST one will not work.

Yes I appreciate this a lot man, my old turbo sadly blew. So I am buying this one. Bad timing thought because I also just hit a deer. Fixing the body work, then the cars getting wrapped. Then yes I am doing this turbo with the wastegate actuator and getting it tuned throught edge. I appreciate the reply.

can barely hear it. the sound you hear is just a cold air intake
@GTkyle

It does make a good bit more compressor noise than the stock turbo but the air rushing noise is definitely prominent. it didn't pick up well on camera. Also this intake is a K&N. It's a hot air intake, stupid design. Car already had it though, prior to turbo install.

@@Jon-ub2hr I'd have to check my receipts but I think I put this turbo on around 130,000 miles and its got almost 180,000 now. It's all on how you drive it and maintain it. Drive it easy until it's fully up to operating temp, 5k oil changes with dexos oil, no low rpm lugging if it's a manual. Yes you will have to retune. You'll need the turbo, 42# injectors, a cold air intake, intercooler, and downpipe to make this all work. This car is running stock exhaust still which has been fine. I say do it. Just make sure you do it right. Buy all new coolant and oil lines for the turbo as well as the gasket and hardware kit (Dorman makes both of these as complete kits). Do a fresh oil change and put new coolant in while you do this work. It's definitely worth the couple grand in parts that it costs to do. That stock turbo is a joke, and all the stock ones crack inside the exhaust housing. That's what got the ball rolling on upgrading this one to the zzp

Torque steer has to be ridiculous! Lmao. My '13 fusion hybrid has a shit ton of torque. Can't imagine all that power with fwd lmao. I had a '16 Lincoln mkz 3.7 and 300hp fwd was just bad. Bad! 😂 Fwd is funny though. I'll launch the hubrid in low and it'll screech the tires to 50 and flash that TC light the whole time 😂😂 and fishtail.
