Se habrán perdido algunos por el camino suelen ser más soldados, tal vez 3 veces más. Igual, tus 5 idiotas habrían podido contra ellos. Un dato extra es que si dejas ir a eyegore va a regresar con un equipo nuevo por lo que se puede farmear sables del desierto meitou.

Why does the character have such good attack animation? Are my stats just too low?

It's from a mod called More Combat Animation, MCA. If your stats on a specific weapon are low, your character won't use the more advanced attack animations the mod adds.

Biggest ones off the top of my head: More Combat Animation, Patchwork Armour, Reactive World, Martial Arts Strafe Dodge and Lore-friendly weapons and Ashigaru Armor.
