Brother, I am 45 days sober. Everything that you said in that video I can relate to I’m 65 years old. I started drinking at 14 years old Saint Ives old English. Everything is saying sounds like me. I grew up in Jamaica Queens hanging out in Roy Wilkins Park drinking smoking so the words that come from your lips is my story and I can relate to everything you’re saying I stopped drinking because health reasons relationship reasons I should’ve done this a long time ago, it’s a shame that I have finally waking up at 65 years old but I am on a journey so I am subscribed to you thumbs up and I’m looking forward to hearing more inspirational videos from you. God bless.

I just hit 2 months and 5 days sober. I started drinking at age 13. Over 40 years of heavy drinking. The withdrawal symptoms were horrible. Anxiety, stomach cramps, nausea even shortness of breath were terrible. I still get anxiety but its tolerable. Every day I feel better and stronger. I don't ever want to drink again. I thank God for keeping me sober.

I have ten months alcohol free. It's good. I've been hiking like crazy, hitting the boxing bag, losing weight, thinking more clearly. I'm a musician so it's also helpful in my music progression of conscious hip hop. Keep it up. You're gonna feel much healthier, especially for us black folks, we need to let go of alcohol. Stick to weed or go sober. It's just healthier for us mentally and physically

Thank you I really appreciate that. That’s very inspiring. I am too a musician. I’m a producer. I’m a DJ and I have been feeling much healthier. I’m losing weight. My workouts. are becoming more better. My focus is 100 times better than it was before and I feel great so glad I’m approaching 120 days and I’m so happy.

Having too many options can kill creativity. All those techniques we developed as Hip Hop Dj's were done on basic gear. We needed to get creative to find an original scratch/sound.

Yeah buddy. Congratulations. Stay with it. I'm 34, been drinking since 14 or 15. Hard drinking, for similar reasons. I've been "stopping" drinking for longer and longer periods the last couple years. Usually a week and a half then I end up partying with friends for a night or two. I want to leave it all behind. It drains me and keeps me from being the person I want to be, a rested, healthier, clear headed person, beholden to no major chemicals but ones brought on naturally from good living... Take care bro, thanks for the story.

Im on day 3 sober after a 2 year bender. Everyday, all day... Im currently on felony release, probation and i have been messin up. Idk why i didnt drink sunday or monday... but i made it through, now half way through day 3 and so far no dt. No shakes. My guts are upset and turning and my mental state is not good tho. Im a severely depressed person and im hoping i can make it out. I cant get in no more trouble. Im almost 39 and ruining my life. This is no pitty post from me i swear. I have no one to express my feelings to atm so i comment my thoughts online and it helps a lil. Congrats on making it this far. Youre doin it.

Peace my brother, this post is very overwhelming, sometimes some situations get the best of us, alcohol may trick us into thinking it fix things in our life they may be broken, but it does the opposite, I’m sorry to hear what you are going through, but you have to try to find the strength within, to break free from the curse we put on ourselves, it is within you, you are doing great, those 3 days mean a lot, because to get to we’re in at , I had to go through the 3 days, just focus on turning 3 days into 6, then eventually it will turn into a higher number, you got this brother, I feel that you are a strong person, I pray to the most high that you will get through this 🙏🏿

Thk you for watching and supporting, when I tried to stop a few years ago, yes I faced withdrawals, this go around no withdrawals, I just got fed up and said enough is enough, I got no outside help, i didn’t go to any AAA meetings, but I will try it, it won’t hurt, I was averaging a half to a pint 6-7 days a week, Friday and Saturdays I would drink a bottle a wine or more each of those days
