I'm glad you found it helpful! I tried to show how it worked in as much detail as possible. BTW I have done a couple of lengthy projects with it, got it quite dirty and beat up a little and it is holding up very well. Thank you!

Quite common to get a stuck valve on these old Briggs engines, especially if they stand around a lot without being used. Clean it up and refit you should be fine.
@Journeyman-FixitАй бұрын
I was amazed at how easy it was to get it running again, even the valve which was the worst part of it cleaned up so well. A lot of the new things I buy today when they break it is over.

My Kergug sounds like that. My problem is though I have water in the container when I go to make coffee my water don't run out the front to catch coffee it runs through that little white plastic thing inside the container how can I fix it where the coffee will come out where its suppose to Help.

Make sure the valve in the tank is clean on the inside of the tank and underneath the tank. I always use filtered water in my Keurig. Good luck!
@marywoods62832 ай бұрын
@Journeyman-Fixit thank you I will do that. I was trying to find the two screw on the lid so I could check the plastic hose inside like you showed to clean with your wife's toothbrush lols. But I don't have a tie to replace th old one. But I have to get the lid off first. I enjoyed your vedio I learned alot. Have a Bless day.

This was a Roto-Tiller an elderly neighbor wanted to hold onto, story goes He inherited it from his Father-In-Law back in the 1980s. We found out it is a 1971 model year. I welcomed the challenge, it took me back to the days when I was a child, I worked on them a lot back then. Good luck on your project, thanks for stopping by!

Maybe a burnt valve or lack of valve lash. Will watch the video. Carb gummed up
@Journeyman-Fixit2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment, after cleaning up the exhaust valve it seems to be running well again, the gas tank was full of gum/crud. I stuck my pressure washer in the tank a few times then used an acidic gas tank cleaner on it. Going to order a new carb. Funny thing: The intake valve was fine but the exhaust valve stem was so crudded up the cam could barely budge it.

No, I have not but I think on these vehicles they are very "fixable" and without too much cost, most of my issues are with the evap system, otherwise it has been an incredible truck. I purchased an inexpensive scan tool to diagnose my issues: amzn.to/3NAI9Ot

Awesome video! My Kuerig needs this done to it. I just bought a new electric toothbrush but kept my old one and after watching this I'm glad I did! I was wondering though if I should use dish soap, plain vinegar or just some of the Kuerig brand descaling solution with the toothbrush to clean the valve??

They had different speeds depending on the governors, I think there were two types used back then: Throttle governed or hit and miss governed. The oil-burning engine advantage was cheaper fuel cost I think.
