Im doing the 4x4 conversion myself, Torque master headers (was lucky enough to find a set) Im tuning mine with the idea of fuel mileage being my main focus. Does this tune increase mpg? Does it also increase timing and do you need to run a higher octane fuel?

It's a good video, dude and thank you.I watch a lot of these videos on pretty much.Anything that I do like this because I really don't know And I just want to say it's probably better if you just go to the video afterwards and talk and explain what you're doing instead of the music. Cause yeah, if you know what you're doing on this kind of stuff.It's helpful for us But I find a lot of The Times the music is just a kind of annoying. just trying to get you some More views so theres more people out here that know what they are doing cause yeah it's a good video thanks

I’m looking to do this for my 99 Explorer that I have on a carribean island. Does either tuner have good low end torque? The roads can be really steep and generally I can’t get over 35 mph.
@RogueMachines17
@RogueMachines17 3 ай бұрын
Overall, I'd say the SCT tuning was the best. Since that tunning it setup by the tuner device itself, it allows some customization. Found that using the SCT tunes and adding a tad more fuel at Wide open throttle it allowed the motor to accept the timing advance better especially around 3300 which is roughly peak torque

did you still pass emission with the second cat/ is the second cat there just as a fail-safe?
@RogueMachines17
@RogueMachines17 6 ай бұрын
Yes, still emissions compliant. The computer gets its emission readings from the downstream o2 sensors which are before the secondary cats. Therefore the computer sees no difference in emissions and that’s all that matters
@carasiaone
@carasiaone 5 ай бұрын
Is that the same as a 97 Explorer? Im in NC don't think we have emissions testing anymore even. Was going to get rid of secondary cats. Do you have headers or just sec cats gone and 2.5 after? Sounds nice! @@RogueMachines17

got a 95 single cab with a 5.9 mag in it i’m looking to build a box that can fit under the seats so i still have my storage space but after seeing this i think i would rather avoid the headache of building a small box that can fit under the seats so for now im gonna go ahead and get some door speakers since mine are blown every couple of days and then good after another couple but if i were to run it the same way you did id most likely just go ahead and cut out some of where the existing rear speakers are mounted and then put the sub behind the passenger side so i can keep half of the storage and still have a nice build with a hopefully stock looking interior besides the obvious sub and head unit

Great job wondered when someone would make a video like this, and you make all the steps a lot easier to understand than the forums version and the writeup in the magazine. Now I can reference your video when I do the swap to my 98 exp. xlt. What year f-150 are the leaf springs and shackles from? Also did you hook up the wiring for the on dash 4wd Hi-Low lights? How did you fix it? What about the speedometer how did you make that work? What kind of rim are you running?
@RogueMachines17
@RogueMachines17 9 ай бұрын
I do not recall the exact year F150 but it was late 80s/early 90s 2WD F150 springs. You use the explorer main leaf and then the rest of the F150 pack. I did hookup the wiring, I can draw something up or do a short video on it if interested. Speedometer will depend on the year which I do not recall, but I can try to find it in my notes somewhere. The wheels are a 15x8 Vision 85 Soft 8 wheel with 31x10.5r15 yokohama MT

@alanabraham3129 9 ай бұрын
@@RogueMachines17 Yes I am looking forward to the video on hooking up the wiring and the drawings in PDF form would be great. I have been told that my 98 5.0 xlt runs the speedo off the rearend and that I don't need to worry about it, we will see when I finish with it.

@@RogueMachines17, I have another question, the bracket that holds the front of the gas tank, you cut the lower corner off and then bent the inside edge around for clearance, couldn't you just cut the lower corner and cut up the inside of the bracket leaving a 1/4 to 1/2 inch to keep it a solid piece (I tried to post a picture to show you but couldn't paste it anywhere)
