Talk about extended life: I've got a 550 HP Focus ST with Ruthenium plugs that I put in when I got the car. These engines are notorious for eating spark plugs so Ruthenium is the way. I am just now replacing them after 90k miles and not because I needed to but for own peace of mind. Only one of four needed to be re-gapped and all still looked like they had plenty of life to go on them. Money. Well. Spent. And best of all, the prices on these haven't been jacked up super high by greedflation. Lifelong NGK Ruthenium customer here. Cheers! ...to long engibe life and Ruthenium spark plugs! 🎉❤

Replaced the engine on my 13’ GT and have been dealing with this for the past couple weeks. Did a few relearns and even swapped it with the sensor in the old one (it was replaced about a year ago) and did another relearn after. No code yet but still getting the same symptoms. Do the relearns take a drive cycle or two to actually reset and fix or is there still a problem?

I’m using NGK racing plugs on my tuned turbo cars. They are NOT racing engines and they DO require non protected tip spark plugs. My Abarth probably generates more heat than a race engine because I’m pushing the stock architecture as far as possible.

The parts (4x Ruthenium HX) should cost them about $50 CAD, so if that was the PARTS charge you were ripped. If that's the overall bill then totally fine.

The wire loop type was EXACTLY what I needed for Iridium Denso plugs. The coin type was not doing it, and the blade type was hard to press together the blades to get the right depth and insert without fearing I'd damage the small raised bump on the arm above the core. THANKS for this video.

He said Ruthenium is more resistant to heat and erosion. Does it implies extended life of the eletrodes with the same ignitability as Iridium electrodes?
@JOutterbridge2 ай бұрын
@@metzmatu8409 after 3 years of use they are definitely more resistant to corrosion and wear. But that doesn't answer the ignition question on how fast the spark is and how well it holds up under forced induction...

CPR has a longer center electrode projection into the combustion chamber than the CR series so the performance can suffer on the lower RPM riding. If they are racing the bike (constant high RPM) there will be no issues but the performance will suffer during low RPM, idle and stop/go conditions.

@ericksanchezHN5 ай бұрын
100k miles up, but you have to check/inspect them periodically, see differences in colors; there are other conditions that affect spark plugs lifespan.
